The quarry froze over every December and it was perfect for the losers, they didn't have actual skates but they always made sure to wear the shoes with no grips, or slide on there knees

It was probably the warmest winter  in Derry in a long time, at least as far as the losers remember but I was still, freezing if you didn't wear enough layers, the losers all dicided to meet up on Saturday and go skating

Richie and stan walked out from around the trees "sup losersss" Richie shouted the others waving at his appearance "took you guys long enough" Eddie said, putting his arms on his hips "sorry spaghetti, stan had to stop and look at some bird shit" Richie replyed nodding his head to Stan "I saw a robin" Stan said excited "that's how you know it's hanaka" Stan said earning a laughter from everyone
"Okay then should we get on the ice?" Richie said clapping his hands toghter and everyone shuffled towards the frozen  water

Eddie poked his foot at the ice "It dosnt seem as thicc as usual" he said "I'm sure it's fine" Richie said "don't dude, it is really warm this year I'm not sure it'll hold two of us barely all seven" mike said agreeing with Eddie "bsh you guys are just worrying" Richie said waving them off with his hands

"Watch this" he said befor putting his arms out slowly stepped on the ice "Richie stop" Eddie said going to reach for his coat but the boy was already out of reach "see told you it's fine" he slid a bit "I still don't trust it" Stan said now standing behind Eddie and mike "ugh fine I'll prove it" Richie said a smirk appearing on his face
"....Richie don't you fucking dare" Eddie said eyes wide and concentrated on the boy
"I'm gonna do it" Richie said smile some how growing wider
"Don't you fucking dare"

Richie didnt say anything but just jumped on the ice "RICHIE" Eddie shouted in annoyance but nothing happened, Richie was still on the ice "see everything is fi-" everyone stoped immediately as a loud cracking sound was  heard, Richie looked down to his feet a group of large cracks where under his feet
"Richie dont fucking move" mike instructed one arm streched back wards keeping the others back the other out toward Richie

Richie kinda curled in on himself, knees facing eachother and elbows tucked into eachother just Infront of his chest "great idea micky" he mumbled eyes still glued to his feet

"Okay so slowly and cearfuly your gonna step forward okay slowly" mike instructed, calmly, Richie did as told he slowly lifted one foot up befor placing it down, his arms where out streched again for balance, once his foot hit the ice he let out a breath be didn't realise he was holding, he looked back up at mike smiling befor his vision went black

"RICHIE" the group shouted as the ice under there freinds foot gave away and sent him into the cold water
Mike quickly went into his knees as quickly as he could till he got to the patch of his Richie was on moments before "I'm explaining once, unless I say do not come on to the ice if I am not back up with in 5 minuets then there's a problem OKAY" mike said firm, he took lead in the situation, befor anyone could agree, pulling his shoes off before he went down into the water

Mike felt the cold bite at his skins but he could think about that now, he opened his eyes in the quarry water, he looked around till his eyes landing on Richie, he looked like he about to give up on trying to swim back up, mike watched as the bubbles left the boys mouth the last of his exgen giving up, befor snapping back and swimming over to the boy

Once he made it he put a arm on his shoulder, Richie whipped his head around, looking at mike who pointed down, he swam down slipping Richie's shoes off him and the other felt lighter it felt easy to swim up now but his legs felt frozen, his body did, mike made him rap his arms around him befor he brought him up

Once both boys reached the surface they took big gasps of air befor the others pulled them up "m-m-my f-fucking g-g-g-god" Richie managed to spit out, his whole body shock, Eddie wrapped his scarf around the taller, pulling Richie's gloves off him and replacing them with his one and whiped the his hat into his head "come on, we need to get them warm" Stan said "my house is closets, we can walk" he instructed as they all sped walk toward the Jews house

Once they reached the Uris house hold Mike and Richie where sat Infront of the fire that Stan lit "clothes off" Eddie said "t-take m-e t-t-to dinner f-first eds" Richie got out "no idiot, your clothes are wet there keeping the cold in also stop speaking you sound like bill" Eddie said rolling his eyes when a "hey!" Could be heard from bill

The two did as Instructed, Stan came back with warm and dry clothes for the boys and blankets as bill, bev and Ben came in holding hot coco for everyone

It had been a while since the incident but no one wanted to leave, so they all dicided to stay for a sleep over

"Yes mama" Richie said down the phone "I'm fine now mike saved me I just don't think any of us want to be without another right know, Stan is taking care of me" he assured his worrying mother
"He's not doing as good job as Eddie would be you get what you get" he whisperd down the line earning a laugh from Maggie "okay rich you can stay but when you come home tommorow I'm taking you for check up just to be extra sure, I love you say hi to others for me"  you could hear the worry in her voice even if she wasn't trying to "okay will do, love you to" Richie replyed befor putting the phone back on the receiver

He walked dack into the living room taking a seat next to Eddie "what movie" he asked in a hushed tone "the new Tim Burton film" he replied voice on the same level "nightmare before Christmas?" He asked, he hadn't had a chance to see it yet and was excited

They where a bit into the movie when Eddie lent back over to Richie "I thought you died today" he said "I thought I had lost you for ever" the raven haird boy felt his cheeks growing warm at the brunettes words "you'de never lose me spaghetti" Richie said turning to face the boy who was now inches away, Richie could feel the others breath on his face, "at least I wount leave you cuse your my spaghetti" he said his eyes dropping from Eddie's honey brown eyes to his lips "your spaghetti?" Eddie asked "mine"
Richies not sure where the confidence came from but he lent in connecting there lips, Eddie's lips tasted like strawberries and Smooth against Richie's chapped, lips, they fitted perfectly toghter, the others losers melted into background along with the film

When Richie finally pulled away he couldn't get the smile off his face "you wanna know something eds" he said, Eddie nodded same expression on his face "I lost my favourite shoes today" Richie said laughing "dickward that's what you say once you kiss someome?" Eddie said finally braking the whispers they had been speaking in befor

Bev whiped her head around the look the two boys "wait you guys kissed?" She asked her eyes big "quick who made the first move?" She said, Richie and Eddie side eyes eachother not sure what to say "I um, me I guess" Richie spat out, wrapping a arm around eddie "right bill 20 dollars please" and bill handed it to her "wait you betted on us" Eddie said only slightly offended "no we betted who would make the first move" she said smiling

They all smiled and had fun for the rest of the night, even though Stan made someone sleep in-between Eddie and Richie cuse "I don't want them fucking on my floor", it was still a great night.
