Betty and I were working late tonight on the paper trying to start the article about the book the football players had.

"You've been quiet over there since you told off Cheryl."

"I'm just thinking about what happened that's all. The way Cheryl tried to play it off like it was a meaningless game, it pissed me off because I know how those girls feel to be treated like they're just some piece of candy."

"Anna, did it happen to you too, does Nick know." I shake my head and wipe the tears that began to surface.

"At the dance, I had went out to get some fresh air, and when I came back in I over heard Chuck and Jack talking. He thought by doing the things he did that I would sleep with him but once I heard them I ran to Nick, just wanting to go home. I hadn't even told him what I heard."

"Did they say anything else."

"Yeah, that they couldn't wait to see my brothers face when they showed him the book with my name in it." She sighs and then looks up and I follow her gaze seeing Ethel walking in with someone behind her. I turn In my chair and smile.

"Hey Ethel."

"Anna, Betty, you know Trev Brown, right? Valerie's brother?

"Hey, what's up?"

"Hey." I smile giving him a small wave.

"He used to be on the football team." Ethel informs us and I look over at Betty and then back at Trev.

"But I quit when I saw Chuck's play book. And I may know where it is."

"Where is it."

"Last time I saw it, it was in your brothers locker but they move it around so no one will find it." I felt something drop in my stomach and I look over at Betty.

"I have to go, I'll meet you tonight when we go search for the book." I gather all my things and walk out before anyone can stop me. I couldn't believe that my brother would do this, he knew better, he was raised different. I guess the people you hang around really do change your moral values.

I needed to take time to clear my head. I was getting texts from Betty after I left and I didn't want to answer them because I would see her inside anyway. I was even ignoring texts from Sweet Pea with how angry I was with my brother.

I still couldn't believe he would do something like this. Write down who he slept with, telling his friends and them sharing the same information. It made me think about what Jack and Chuck had said at the dance, about seeing Nicks face once my name was in that book. It confused me at first but then once we put the pieces together, now I know what they meant by the book. There was a knock at my window and I look up to see Veronica.

I unlock the doors and she gets in giving me a smile.

"Betty says she's been texting you, have you been here this whole time."

"Yeah, I just need to think that's all." I shrug and she turns towards me.

"Betty told me what happened, I'm sorry it happened to you, but what's good about it is that you heard about it and we're able to avoid it." She touches my shoulder and I sigh.

"Yeah but I should have said something. Maybe I could have prevented it from going any further and knowing that my brother knew about the book made it worse."

"How about we go in there and find the book and then you can confront him about it, see what he has to say. Maybe he really does have nothing to do with it and Trev could have made a mistake." I nod and she gives me another soft smile before we both get out and head inside.
