Y/N let out a pained groan, throwing her innocent pen onto her desk, "I hate this, I hate this" she growled as tears weld up in her eyes. She hated this hour of the day, Y/N's route had homework in it, and like most teenagers, or well any schooling student, she hated homework.

Placing her head in her hands she laid there staring off at the wall, as if it was the most interesting thing in the world, the only light was that from what was radiating from the table lamp behind her head. She dare say she could doze off.

The rest of the household was sleeping, it was only 11 pm, but everyone, including Y/N, had busy days ahead of them. "Two tests tomorrow.." she cried softly in the comfort of her arms, which honestly, wasn't that comforting.

The only thing at school that had her willing to go, was her helpful, cheerful classmate, Eli.

She sat up in her chair, her eyes gazing back towards the lamp... and the stack of books, papers.. homework beneath it. Her eyes watered upon seeing the stack, a lot of it coming close to the due date.

She grabbed her poor pen, that in anger she threw, tears threatening to spill from her eyes, as her head thumped in pain, she sighed softly before pulling out all the work that was due in the next week, a hopeful part of her saying, let's finish it tonight! But deep down Y/N knew that wouldn't happen.

Y/N pulled out the math homework that was due tomorrow, throwing away the homework that was due earlier today, somewhere on her floor, to be later found in the future, but that's future Y/N's problem.

She held her pen in her mouth as she stared down at the work, trying to wrap her head around the concepts, "This is what my math test is going to be like..?" She mumbled "kill me now" she cried throwing her head back in frustration.

She decided to seek help, her eyes glanced to her phone, "Should I? Could I?" she spoke softly, debating on calling a classmate, friend, or anyone. She went against herself and picked up her phone, quickly heading to the phone app before she could get distracted with anything else on her phone.

Y/N's eyes gazed across her phone looking for someone who may actually be of use to her. Her eyes landed slowly stopped in the 'E' section of her phone, 'would Eli be awake?' she thought, she gulped softly, without thinking much, she clicked on his name.

She panicked as she heard it dialling, 'Hang up hang up!!' she yelled at herself before she could click it, a tired voice was barely heard on the other end.

"Hello..?" a tired voice spoke with a yawn following,
"E-Eli! you picked up?"
Y/N spoke giggling softly in disbelief, with soft sniffles,
"I was hoping you'd be asleep.."
she said softly.
"Y/n..? Oh! Hey, what's up?"
Eli responded tiredly, with a hint of worry.
"Ah. Um, I need some help if you don't mind"
"oh.. give me a minute, sorry, you woke me up"
He laughed softly, shifting around in his bed.
"oh, I'm sorry! I'll let you get back to bed"
She spoke quickly, feeling guilty.
"No! No! It's okay"
Eli spoke
"I've just gotta wake up a little, what's this for?"
He said, more shuffling heard on his end.
"oh... Uh, maths? The homework.. due tomorrow.."
Y/N laughed awkwardly, with a stupid smile plastered on her face,
"oh Jesus, okay, let me find iiiit"
Eli yawned, shuffling paper is heard among the distance of the call.
"Here it is, so what exactly do you need help with? The answers?"
Eli was too kind.
"No! That's cheating!"
She laughed with a soft smile,
"I just need some explanation.."

So Eli tiredly helped the struggling girl with her homework.

"I think I'm starting to get it now Eli!" Y/N laughed softly, her only response was the soft snores on the other end, "oh..." she smiled nervously "goodnight Eli.. I'll thank you tomorrow."
