Aven's POV:

Walking down the road, placing the application in my bag, the small smile still on my face. I head to my favourite Restaurant, 'Pete's Pizza Place'. It's a family owned business, they've owned it for at least three generations. The people are all so friendly, and the food is amazing. I think they are the only people who never judge me based on the media and gossip.

I walk up to the desk and give a smile to the two ladies and the gentleman at the counter. "Is Pete here?" I ask. I give them a monthly payment to ensure they can keep the business going. I have offered a few times to add another floor to the building so they can make the business larger, but Pete has his '10-year plan'. Whatever keeps him and his family happy, they know they can always come to me for help.

"Sorry sir, he just went out. Is there a message I can pass on to him?" the gentleman answers.

"No that's ok, can you just give him this when he comes back." I say as I hand the envelope of money over. He's a cash guy, doesn't trust using online payments for business.

"Was that all for today?" the gentleman asks.

"Can I please just get the Earth special, a ham and cheese and a small margarita."

"Ok we can get those ones started for you, was there anything else.?"

Completing the order and transaction, getting enough for the upper floor team, which is about 20 people. I take a seat at the window to check my phone for any messages.

7 missed calls from Lenny. What has he done now?

I call Robert to bring the car, I don't think I can carry that many pizzas back, as short as the walk is.

The gentleman from earlier, who I learnt their name is Sam, helps me carry the pizzas to the car. I give him a 50 as a tip, I wish I carried more cash on me.

I walk in through the front door to give Sandra her Margarita and Leanne her ham and cheese pizzas, excusing the two of them to sit outside and eat their lunch together.

Robert and I carry the rest of the pizzas up to the second from the top floor for the crew to share. Robert calls them all in and I greet them all before leaving with my 'Earth Special' one more floor up the elevator to eat my lunch in my office in peace.

Grabbing the application out of my bag and reading it. Chuckling to myself when I read his paragraph.

Well, I wanted character.

Ezekiel's POV:

Shutting the door of my car as I get in, making sure I don't slam it this time.

Bailey's not going to be happy I ruined any chance I had.

Maybe Sandra can put in a good word for me, let him know I'm not always stubborn?

That would be lying though.

Once I get home I flop on the couch. It's only 2 o'clock I have plenty of day left to think about how to tell Bailey I probably won't get the job. I decide to lay down and set a timer for 20 minutes, a quick nap can't hurt.

*4 hours later*

I wake up to Bailey shaking me awake and my 20-minute timer going off.

"What are you doing home so early Bails?" I groan out, my voice croaky from just waking up.

She laughs, "it's 6 o'clock, I'm not home that early. How long was your power nap?" she asks, still chuckling slightly.

"Four hours apparently" I mutter.

I sit up and rub my eyes, hoping that wakes me up a bit. It doesn't.

"You need to call Anne." Bailey informs me. I groan and flop back on the couch.

Anne is my current boss. I have to give notice that I'm applying for another job. But I'm pretty certain I'm not getting the job.

I dial Anne's number.

I can't tell Bailey it's my fault I don't get the job, I probably wouldn't get it anyway even with a good first impression. I'm missing a few requirements, one of the biggest is me being a guy and the other big one is that I'm gay. And Mr Thornton knows now because it's the opener for my paragraph I wrote.

Guys like him are all about image. And having a gay guy as your assistant isn't exactly the best for their precious image.

I call Anne and let her know that I am resigning and that I applied for a job at assistant at Earth Energy. Apologising at least three times for the late notice, which she brushes off since I'm "like a son to her" as she said. I also decide to mention that I put her as one of my references of people who would recommend me.

After she promises to put in a good word, which makes me chuckle, and wishing me luck she hangs up.

"I can pick up some takeaway and we can watch movies tonight if you want?" I offer, seeing how exhausted Bailey looks.

"That sounds perfect." She smiles at me as she snuggles further into the couch.

I go and get us a couple of different options of food; fried rice, pizza and ice cream.

We put on 'Tangled' and cuddle together on the couch, snacking on the food and Bailey eventually falls asleep on my shoulder.

Not long after I drift off too, listening to Flynn Rider and Rapunzel singing 'At last I see the light.'
