Aven's POV:
Getting dressed for another day of interviews, I can't get him out of my head.
Ezekiel.
The name suits him. I keep reading his paragraph, trying to imagine his personality. His laugh constantly echoing in my head, the image of his smile not leaving my vision.
And after the incident last night, he seems to be on my mind even more. The feel of his hand in mine, even for just a brief second, the blush that covered his face so quickly. And the feeling of having him in my arms. I could hold him forever. The curls of his hair were so soft in my hands. I couldn't help it when I kissed his forehead. It just felt right.
I can't wait for today. Unfortunately, I have 5 interviews before his, but I saved the best for last.
Then I have call-backs after. One from yesterday and whoever impresses me today. I really hope Ezekiel does. I would just hire him, but I do need an assistant who can actually do the job, so I hope he fits the criteria.
After the fourth interview of the day I slump into my chair. These people are really not living up to their applications. One of them blatantly lied on hers, that was a quick interview.
My face lights up into a smile when I smell food.
"Lenny! Thank you so much."
"That's alright, these interviews are draining, we all need our energy."
"Only two more of the day, then I have the individual call-backs."
"How many call-backs do we have so far?"
"One from yesterday, Carrie."
"Oh, yeah she was great. Definitely the best so far."
"Yep," I say sitting forward again to eat my lunch."
*time skip- after the interview*
"Well, that was another waste of my time." I say losing hope. At least we still have Carrie.
And Ezekiel.
"We should go clubbing tonight," Sandra says.
"It is a Friday night," Caylen says slowly.
The three of them look over to me.
"Yeah, why not? It'll be fun." I smile as they cheer and holler.
Leanne and I leave the room to go and get the last applicant. Ezekiel.
I see him sitting in one of the seats in the lobby, fiddling with his hands nervously. Looking amazing in the navy-blue button up and black suit pants. The sleeves rolled up to his elbows almost making me drool.
I somehow manage to compose myself enough to greet him.
"Good afternoon," I say putting my hand out, "Aven Thornton."
He takes my hand as he stands up from the chair. His hand fitting almost perfectly in mine. His cheeks flushing pink.
"Ezekiel Morrow, pleasure to meet you." He says, a polite smile on his lips.
Our hands linger in each other's for a second longer than usual, neither of us really taking notice of it though. The smile on Leanne's face tells me she definitely did though.
He then puts his hand out for Leanne to shake, introducing himself again.
"Leanne, nice to meet you too." She says, a mischievous grin on her face.
