There's a boy downtown. He's not as bad ass as the others, you can define him as the silent one. He was one of those dream guy you'll usually see in movies or t.v shows with broad shoulders, good built body and silky hair. He's also tall and acquires the kind of eyes you'll want to drown to by staring at it. He usually sits at the corner of the bench by the sea side, hands in his pockets as he stare at the sea's water until dusk.
A time came when a storm hit around noon, but he sat there like he has no plan of going home or to look for shelter. I approached him, holding an umbrella.
"Hey" I Uttered, he turned to look at me with wide eyes.
"It's you" then he stood up. I looked at him, confused of the words he's saying.
"Do I know you?" I asked the stranger. The wind grew strong, the waves were beginning to grow. 'Run!' I wanted to shout but I couldn't. Now that I look closer, he looks so familiar. Like a distant friend I've lost, a confidant I mourn for. The rain's heavy downfall seems like it will put a hole through the umbrella.
He stared at me like I was his long lost friend, his treasure, someone he cares about. I searched his eyes for words, but it seemed empty. He lifted his hand and put it on my cheek, I followed his actions. I felt his cold skin touch mine. He's all soaked from the rain now. His blonde hair sticks to his forehead and droplets of rain falls from it. "Do I know you?" I repeated.
"You don't remember me?" He asked. Somehow, I saw pain in his eyes and it pained me too. But I don't know him, and I know more than to trust some random guy and let him touch me. In the middle of the storm, where the wind blows so hard and the cloud lets out a heavy downpour.
I shook my head, he sighed. I looked around and noticed the waves were a bit calm than before, there were rays of sunlight coming out of the back of the clouds. I wondered how it cleared so fast. "Ten years ago" He started, I fixed my attention to him. He was looking at the waves again "I have a friend, we were both ten but I was older than her by a couple of months. She was my best friend." Then he turned to face me. "One day, we played by the park. We played tag along the other kids, I didn't notice her walk out into the streets. She got hit by the car" He said, pain in his eyes.
"Oh my, I am sorry to hear that I --" He cut me off.
"This was the last time I saw her. We we went to have a family vication after she got dismissed from the hospital because of a coma. It was the last time. Because the next morning, she and her parents flew out of the country." He said. "It was the last time I saw her." He repeated. I fixed my gaze to his eyes. He seems rather familiar. I closed my eyes as he touch my cheek with his palm as the throb on my head continue. "Until now" He whispered into my ear before tugging me close and leaning in to kiss me.
I let the umbrella fell off my grasp. I responded to his kiss.I didn't stop him. He was no random guy. He ain't like the other guys I've dated before because I remembered from a yesteryears' memory, he was the boy I promised to marry back then. Back when I was a child, back when I got hit and back when I left him here with my memories.
"You came back" He whispered with a smile as our foreheads touch each other's. There was no more worry, fear and saddness in his eyes. It was replaced by happiness and love. "Promise me you won't go" He said as he take both my small hands into his big ones.
I smiled and answered sweetly, "I won't. I promise" And kissed him by the lips once more.
