Luke instinctively grabbed onto Y/N's hand and pull her behind him, his eyes trained on this girl who moved toward them. She grabbed onto his belt loop and peeked over his shoulder at the confrontation. It looked silly from the surface, such a small girl, sending three teenage boys into such shock, but the guys were doing their best not to spook this girl again.

"Well," Luke began "I'm Luke, and this is Reggie and Alex." He said, pointing to his left and right.

Julie's eyes fell behind Luke, looking directly into Y/N's eyes. "And who's she?" Julie said pointedly.

Y/N grabbed Luke's hand and came out to stand beside him. "Y/N, my name is Y/N"

The girl looked at the group of four in front of her, eyes falling on all of them in their own time. She opened her mouth to speak when a smaller voice came out from the door frame.

"Julie....what....are you doing..." a small boy with curly brown hair stared at the girl with look of concern.

"CARLOS, oh it's nothing." She hid the cross behind her. "Just thought I heard something."

"You're getting hysterical, come eat dinner before I tell dad." He shut the door behind him and Julie moved her eyes back to the crew.

"I'm leaving, and when I come back. You need to be gone."

Luke moved toward her "But-"

"I said GONE!"

The girl walked quickly through the door, leaving the four of them speechless. Y/N looked up at Luke's face, and he met her gaze. He kissed her temple and moved his hand back to her waist to keep her extremely close to his side.

"He couldn't see us...." Y/N said quietly, furrowing her brows.

"Are we...actually...ghosts?" Reggie says scratching his head.

"I don't know what we are, but don't worry, I'm going to talk to her when she comes back so we can figure that out. I've got this."

Alex stared at his friend in disbelief "She was pretty clear about her orders Luke...."

"Look, I'd be completely spooked if four random strangers appeared in my garage seemingly out of a cd player too. She just needs to calm down and maybe we'll be able to reach her a bit better." Luke squeezed Y/N's side, bringing her focus back to his face. She smiled lightly, letting his eyes melt into hers.

"Woah."

The pair broke their gaze to find Reggie rummaging around the garage. His hands hovering over the piano keys.

"Man, looking at this beauty makes me miss my guitar," He said. Seemingly out of thin air, it appeared in his arms. Reggie's eyes went wide as he touched the strings.

"I- what is going on..." He whispered, clutching the instrument to his chest. He looked over to Alex, who was staring at him intently.

"Alex, think about your drums and see what happens," Reggie jumped up and down in place.

Alex closed his eyes and focused. A loud thud shook the room and a black and white set of drums landed at his feet. "Oh....my god."

Y/N let go of Luke and looked at him "You should try too, see if your old six-string will appear?" Luke beamed at her as he closed his eyes and thought hard about his gorgeous, one of a kind guitar.

He spun around in a ring of light, his beloved wrapped around his shoulder in pristine condition. "I....cannot believe it."

She jumped up and down watching this all happen in front of her. "Do you think you boys still know how to play together?" Luke scoffed at her, nodding at the guys before counting down from three.

As they started playing, she bobbed her head to the beat. About thirty seconds into the song, the young girl came rushing back into the garage.

"STOP, THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD CAN HERE YOU!! DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO LEAVE?"

They all stopped, looking at her with wide eyes. So no one could see them.....but they could hear them play? What does that even mean for their music.

"Just...go!" Julie said, pointing at the door as she walked out of the room. Luke followed her out to the driveway. He called out to her, forcing her to turn around.

"Look, we know that we're total strangers, but you have to give us a break. We have no idea how we got here, what we are and what happened to us. Could you give us at least a few days to piece something together?"

Julie glared at him "I've had a long enough day as it is, I don't need loud ghosts, spirits...whatever you are, waking up my father and causing me to go to even more therapy."

Luke's eyes widened, stepping forward again. "Look, I'm sorry we're making your life hard right now, but we'll listen. We won't play our instruments, we won't draw any attention to our existence if you just let your garage be our hideout." His hands came up in a prayer-like pose.

Julie crossed her arms, sighing dramatically "Fine, you can stay here, but if you cause trouble, you've got to leave."

Luke smiled "Thank you....Julie, right?"

Julie nodded "Yeah, that's me." A silence fell between them. Finally, Julie moved toward her back door. "Goodnight Luke, I've got... a lot to unpack before bed tonight."

He laughed, nodding in her direction "fair enough, goodnight, Julie." He watched as she walked out of sight.

"Everything okay?" Y/N's voice came through behind him, her hand coming in to grip his upper arm.

He looked over to her with a wide grin "I just scored us a place to stay for a while, so I think we're good." Her eyes lit up, stepping up on her tiptoes to kiss his lips before they moved back into the garage.
