The band still wasn't fully used to the 'not sleeping' part of their afterlife, growing bored toward 1 a.m.

"I'm snooping around," Alex said, moving away from the group.

"I'm going to reconnect," Reggie said, hugging his guitar tightly as he moved over to a chair near the door.

Y/N took Luke's hand and guided him to the old couch. Within seconds she was laying in Luke's arms, talking and cuddling.

They were discussing all of the things in their past life that they currently missed. Y/N talked about her mom, her baby sister and her favorite high school English teacher, Ms. Rouch.

"I even miss my cat," Y/N said, sighing.

Luke laughed, twirling a piece of her hair around his finger. "You mean the cat that you almost killed...twice? And asked your mom to get rid of like a week after adopting her? That cat?"

She giggled, leaning her head back to meet his eyes "it's all different now, I miss everything, no matter how annoying...or disruptive or hairy they may have been."

Luke pressed his lips together to stop from loud giggles from radiating around the room. "What do you miss?" She asked him, moving his arms closer around her waist, where he immediately started to rub circles on her stomach.

"I miss my mom, the most I think."

She looked up at the ceiling. She wasn't surprised by this answer, given that the last time Luke talked about his mom was when he showed the band a new song he'd written for her.

Y/N had been in the other room many times as the two fought. It was always hard to hear the pain in both of their voices. She had always been too nervous to bring up the subject to Luke, and ask him more about the situation. She blinked back tears as she remember the lyrics he wrote.

"Do you think you'll visit her while we're here?"

Luke's hands stop moving, and he doesn't say anything. She tilts her head back again to see him staring directly at the door with his jaw locked. She moved out of his grip, sitting to face him. She grabbed his chin softly pulling his gaze back in her direction.

"Hey," She said simply, giving him a dimpled smile. He finally gave in and smiled back at her, leaning forward to place a kiss on her lips.

"Sorry, I spaced out for a minute. I don't think I've ever even considered the fact that I could go see her right now...."

She nodded, watching his expression go colder again. He reaches out for her, bringing her body closer to his, gripping her waist tightly. "You don't have to. I...I shouldn't have even brought it up-"

"No, It's alright. I've been avoiding that topic long enough. I just..." She cupped his cheek in her hand, her heart breaking as she watched his eyes droop.

"In your own time love," She wrapped her hands around his neck as she watched him.

He still avoided direct eye contact. "I want to talk to you about it, I swear...It's just hard for me. I don't want you to think I don't trust you." She grinned even bigger, leaning her head to one side.

He was never great with emotions, but Luke always knew how to make her feel wanted and cared for. The feeling make her heart race and her face flush as looked at him. She could still see the outline of his jaw in the dim lighting of the room, his hazy eyes raised so that she couldn't see him cry and his hair a mess from running her hands through it.

"What?" He laughed, his focus back on her.

"Nothing, just admiring my handsome, strong boyfriend." He rolled his eyes, pulling her backward so she fell on top of him before placing his lips on hers again.
