Chapter 26- Secret Meeting

Alya and Nino ran into what they thought was the creepy abandoned building hand in hand. Marinette had been waiting for them by the door. As soon as she saw them come in she ran to them and gave then a bone crushing hug which they happily returned.

 At that moment she was scared and broken but she knew she had to be strong in order to save Paris and most importantly Chat Noir. Scared because she knew in order to get their help they would need to know her identity she only hoped that they would not be disappointed or worse hate her. Broken because she needed her partner she needed to make sure he was safe but she failed and worst of all she was the reason he was akumatized in the first place. But she had to be brave for herself, for her friends, for him her partner, for their love.

"I'm so happy to see you" Marinette sobbed while hugging her friends. "Marinette where have you been, you had us worried sick, why didn't you answer our calls?" Alya asked with a hint of both sadness and relief. Alya then released the hug and looked up at Marinette, she then gasped at the sight of her appearance. There were bruises and cuts all over her face, neck, and arms. Her eyes were almost completely swollen shut, there were claw like cuts all over her legs, but what scared her the most was the handprint bruises around her neck like she was being choked to death. Even though the pain was healed by Tikki and the worst injuries were now healed there were some that would slowly heal taking a few hours and the bruises would take days. Taking in all the details tears filled her eyes and began to run down her cheeks and once again she pulled Marinette into a hug. "What happened to you? How are you not in the hospital? Who did this to you was it Chat Blanc, I saw the video I thought you had escaped." Alya managed to ask between sobs while Nino stood there shocked, he couldn't move it was like his brain stop functioning.

Alya released the hug to ask another question but Marinette not before Marinette asked the question they knew they wouldn't be able to answer. "Guys where's Adrien? Did he ever answer? Why is he not here?" This brought Nino back from his shock and hesitating he answered "We don't know, he never answered. After Alya asked me about him I tried to get ahold of him but got nothing this morning we went to his house but his dad was worried, he said he didn't come home last night and we hoped he was with you." "What do you mean he never came home? Omg do you know what this could mean? Chat Blanc almost killed Luka, what if he got to Adrien? No no no no no please tell me he is ok."

Marinette began to hyperventilate. Her friends tried to calm her down but were confused as to why she said that. They knew that she would not react good to the news but what do she mean? Why would Chat be after him and Luka? Marinette then fell on her knees and began to sob uncontrollably. Her body began to shiver and her almost healed cuts began to once again bleed it was as if Ninos' words were a bullet at her heart. Alya then bent down and pulled Marinette up embracing her in a hug and whispered in her ear "hey it ok Mari, I am sure he is fine, I am sure that Chat Blanc never got to him, I know we will find him together ok but we need to know what is happening first so we can figure out what to do ok Mari just breath." Alyas words were good to calm Marinette down when she was able to breathe normally she nodded as a response to Alya. After a few minutes of silence Alya broke the hug and looked at Marinette for an explanation.
