Chapter 33- Unexpected reveal and revelations

Adrien's POV

"Mom?" I said in shock. I couldn't believe my eyes there was my mom but how and why does hawkmoth have her. Is Hawkmoth my? No it can't be this doesn't make sense. There was now a deep silence in the room until I decided to break it. "Who are you? Why do you have my mom?" Hawkmoth then stepped back into the shadows and detransforms and slowly walks back into the light and towards me. What I saw left me cold. No it can't be.

"Father?"

Hawkmoth/Gabriel's POV

I hear him say father with evident shock in his voice. I couldn't help but turn back to look at my dear wife Emily. I can't wait to once again have her in my arms. I know that my tactics may have been a bit much but I am sure he will understand that I did it for us. I did this to make us a happy family again I am sure he wouldn't be mad right? He is probably wondering why he is chained up but I couldn't take my chances of him trying to ruin my plan before I could even explain. I started to speak but he didn't let me get but one word out.

Gabriel- "Son"

Adrien- "Don't son me! How could you do this? To us, to Paris, our home. You do have any idea all the damage you have caused? All the hurt and pain people have gone through including me?" Adrien was beyond mad at this point. Yes he loved his mother but he would never have hurt innocent people over it.

Gabriel- "Don't raise your voice at me! I did this for us to have our family back, for us to finally be happy. Don't you want your mother back?" Gabriel was upset at his sons' reaction.

Adrien- "You don't think I want her back? Of course I do she is my mother and the only person who ever loved me. I want her back but not like this. Not by putting the lives of innocent people at risk. Not by causing damage and destruction. Not my breaking other people's trust and relationships. That was never the right way!" Adrien didn't care if his father thought he was being disrespectful for once he decided that he would not stand for the wrong he had done.

Gabriel-"How could you say that? She is your mother and we both know that wish is the only way to bring her back and I am going to get it at whatever cost." Gabriel was boiling of anger at this point. He was glad he had Adrien tied up otherwise he would have tried to stop him. But he knew once she was holding him in her arms Adrien would forgive what was done.

Adrien-"It doesn't work that way! It is not a wish, it is an exchange. A life for a life. For you to want it you must have done your research, you must know it's a life exchange. Someone else will die can't you understand that." Adrien knew that the ultimate power was unpredictable, master Fu had made them very aware of why it could not be used, and he knew this would not end well. Yes he wanted his mother back but she would have never been okay with this what if it's not just one life what if it ends everyone, this could not happen.

Gabriel- "I don't care about others I care about her!"

Adrien-"She would not want this"

Gabriel- "You might not see it now but when it's done and she is here you will and I know it will make you happy."

Adrien-"You don't know what will make me happy! You were never there for me, you never asked me. Maybe all I wanted was your love and maybe even without mom you and I could have been happy. I tried so hard to be perfect for you so you could be proud so mom wherever she was could be proud but you have never given me that. I love her and yes I miss mom but we can't bring her back. Not like this."

Gabriel-"I was proud and if did this is to make us happy but I will not allow you to say that it would have been ok without her. You will not disrespect my love for her. It's the only way and after I take l Ladybug out of my path I will get my wish."

Adrien- "Don't hurt her! You will not touch her!" Adrien was feeling a mix of emotions. Hate towards his father, pain because he did miss his mom, but more than anything fear for the life of his princess.

Gabriel- "Don't you dare tell me what to do? Why can't I touch her? She is the one standing in the way of out happiness." Gabriel yelled making a fist.

Adrien- "Because I love her!" Adrien responded yelling over his father

Adrien- "Have you been too blind to see father I love her." Adrien was now speaking low but then went back to being angry "and I will not let you hurt her."

Gabriel-"Oh and who is going to stop me"

Adrien-"Ladybug will find me and we will stop you I promise you that"

Gabriel-"She will never find you" Gabriel now laughed at his son stubbornness.

Adrien-"What makes you so sure?"

Gabriel-"She saw you die." And with that Gabriel walked out.
