Bakugou watched Yaoyorozu as she slept peacefully. He felt a mixture of releif and frustration; on the one hand she was safe but on the other hand looking at her injured body made him feel like shit. He thought that distancing himself from her would protect her but instead she just got hurt more. He felt stupid, weak, useless.
"Some hero you are," he whispered to himself; fists clenched.

The white hospital room, lit naturally by the sunlight, almost made it seem like Yaoyorozu was waking up in heaven. The almost melodic sound of her heart rate on the vital monitor lulled her into conciouness. The first person she saw was the nurse taking her vitals, then the doctor. She could only hear bits of what they were saying - 'how are you?' 'do you remember anything' - perhaps the rest of her body is still asleep.
A couple hours later, her parents walked in. Mom looks really distraught. She thought, staring at her mom's reddened and tired eyes. Dad looks so tired. She couldn't help but notice the way his normally bright eyes casted a dark shadow.
"Oh Momo," her mother sighed. "We're so glad you're awake."
Yaoyorozu wasn't really sure how long she's been sleeping for - the doctor probably told her - but she had a feeling that it's been a long time. People wouldn't normally have such expressions if you've only been sleeping for a day or two; or maybe they do? Yaoyorozu didn't know, her mind was still far too tired to think.
Jirou visited her sometime in the afternoon. Her eyes were filled with surprise when she saw Yaoyorozu sitting up.
"Y-you're awake?" Jirou asked, dropping the items she brought to cover her mouth.
Yaoyorozu nodded, "Just this morning."
"Thank goodness," Jirou picked up the items, running towards Yaoyorozu's bed. "Everyone will be so relieved."
Jirou stayed for a couple hours mostly talking about the new semester. Yaoyorozu noticed how Jirou seemed to want to say something, but would hesitate and change the subject.
"Hey," Yaoyorozu began, a question of her own in mind. "Did...they catch the villian who..."
"Oh," Jirou sat up, rubbing the back of her head. "About that..." Jirou looked at Yaoyorozu's eyes. "They found him dead at the scene."
Yaoyorozu's eyes widen, unsure of how to take in the information. The person that caused all of her injury and tortured her that day was already gone.
"Who saved me?" She questioned further.
Jirou bit her lip. "Sorry, Yaoyorozu, I need to get back to the dorms."
Again, Yaoyorozu was left alone in her hospital room. She was trying to get the feeling of that night out of her mind, out of her skin. She couldn't remember much of it, but she could remember the pain being inflicted on her body. She tried her best to get away, to fight back, but her previous injuries made it difficult to 'create'.
Yaoyorozu grabbed her phone, looking through her messages, most were from her classmates wishing her well, or saying that they'll be visiting soon. She noticed that she had sent to Bakugou on that day. It was a mixture of numbers - coordinates?
She hit the call button, wondering if he would even pick up.
Ring. Ring. The number you have dialed is not available, please try again later.
Yaoyorozu hung up, an anxious feeling welling up in her stomach. She thought she was dreaming when she heard his voice that night - he said her name. It wasn't a dream. She hit the call button again.
Ring. Ring. R-
"What do you want Ponytail?" Bakugou answered, but it wasn't from the phone, he was standing at her doorway. He was wearing black sweatpants, a black hoodie, a red scarf and carried a plastic bag with him.
"Bakugou?" Yaoyorozu said in disbelief.
"Yeah?" He sat at the chair next to her hospital bed, pulling out strawberry milk from the plastic bag. "Here."
"Thank you." She took a sip. "What are you doing here?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
"Isn't Aizawa going to be mad if you're out of the dorms so late?."
"Ah, that." Bakugou scratched the back of his head. "I was suspended so it's not really a big deal right now."
"Suspended!?"
"Yep, I was suspended." Bakugou scoffed. "Actually I got pretty lucky that I didn't get expelled. Luckily, the media didn't catch whiff of it so the police were able to keep everything under wraps."
Yaoyorozu fell silent. "You still came to rescue me even though it could have gotten you expelled..."
"Can you really call that a rescue?" Bakugou asked, tucking Yaoyorozu's side bangs behind her ear, exposing the bandages on her face. He then gently rested his hand on her cheek, the sudden action made Yaoyorozu flinch.
"I was angry at him, but I was mostly angry at myself. I failed to protect you." Bakugou continued. "Can I really call myself a hero when I couldn't even protect you? When I couldn't even control myself enought to just apprehend the guy?"
Yaoyorozu placed her hand on Bakugou's, she closed her eyes and sunk deeper into his touch. "We'll get better," she smiled. "That's what you said during summer, remember?" She opened her eyes to look at him. "We don't always start out ready to handle a situation. Maybe we handle it well, maybe we handle it poorly. But we'll learn and get better."
Bakugou smirked. He stood up from his chair, leaned towards Yaoyorozu and planted a kiss on her lips. "Yeah, let's get better together."
Yaoyorozu stared at him, eyes wide open. She wasn't sure how to process what happened, she wasn't even really sure if it happened.
Bakugou frowned. "Why do you have that look on your face?"
"I-I didn't think," she covers her mouth. "I - What do you mean?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
Yaoyorozu shook her head. Yes, it was obvious, but she wanted to hear him say those words; those words that she wanted to tell him.
Bakugou sighed.
"I like you, Momo."

AN: Hello! Thank you so much for reading the first fanfiction I have ever posted online! To be honest, I've always been really scared of posting stories because I just never thought anyone would read them; so I'm really thankful to everyone who has stuck around until the very end. I hope that you'll join me again next time.
Thank you again and I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I have enjoyed writing!
