Chapter 118 Birds of a feather flock together

I told Wendy about Qin Youyin's father's recentsituation, including that he set up a nightly snackstall with Aunt Chun in the Yue Province.After hearing me out, Wendy lapsed into silence.

She just sighed slightly and kept staring at AuntChun, who just won a round of mahjong gameand was shouting with joy.

I endured the pain and said with a grin "Thenthanks for your trouble, Aunt Chun. I'll buy yousome refreshments later."

"No, no. You don't need to. I can make themmyself if I'm hungry. By the way, Wendy, do youhave any friends who are still single? Maybe youcould introduce one of them to Youyin? She doesn't need to be beautiful, and it's just fine tobe kind and soft."

I fought the urge to giggle and walked out of thegate of the community, and Wendy hurriedly followed and pinched me hard again.

While Youyin just walked beside us casually as if nothing happened. Suddenly, he said lightly "Mysister-in-law, please don't listen to what my mom said and introduce me a beautiful girl. I'm a kindof realistic person."

Wendy couldn't help laughing and said "Is this realistic? What your mom said was more practical. By the way, don't call me as your sister-in-law anymore. I'm really not his girlfriend."

"Every single man in the world would want tomarry a beautiful lady. So I really want to have a pretty and gorgeous girlfriend. As for the title, Icalled you 'sister-in-law' just in advance."

Wendy sighed speechlessly and then glared at me, muttering to herself "Birds of a feather reallyflock together."

Among several streets having nightly snack stallsin the county, one of them was rather close to Youyin's home, just two blocks away. So it onlytook us 10 minutes to walk there.

We found the barbecue stall we often visited inthe past, sat down at a corner table and then ordered four bottles of beer, a roast oyster,steamed mussels and a big piece of roast beef.Besides, we also ordered a portion of fried snailmeat and a dish of fried potato slices with sourbamboo shoots. As for Wendy, she ordered aglass of mango juice.

I had to say that although Wendy was born in arich family, sometimes she didn't want to bewealthy at all. Instead, sometimes she looked likean ordinary girl who was quite down to earth.

When she came to my home to have dinner before, she not only highly praised the few localhome-made dishes I cooked, but also tried to eat the pickles from our countryside.So when coming to the barbecue stalls in thisstreet market, she also enjoyed the food here,and she even said that she had never eaten suchfoods before.I didn't feel surprised about that. So how come she would go to the street market for barbecue?I used to have French food in a western restaurant with her before. Moreover, Wendy seemed to have a good appetite today. Youyin and I almost drank beer and chatted all the time, while Wendy kept eating.

Although she didn't have bad tablemanners, she wasn't as elegant and gentle as the time she had western food before.She ate most of the fried snail meat and fried potato slices with sour bamboo shoots, so we ordered a dish of each again.It's probably because Youyin and I had lots of mutual friends and we had a lot to talk about, so Wendy didn't join our conversation and seemed to be left out. However, I was not to blame since I didn't plan to bring her outside and it was she who insisted to have barbecue foods with us.As I continued to chat with Youyin, Iunconsciously mentioned his ex-girlfriend, who was also Youyin's first crush.

But Youyin said that she was about to divorce. I was shocked when hearing this and Wendy also looked up, waiting curiously for Youyin'sfollowing words.Youyin didn't mind and said before I could ask"Her husband has been cheating on her and living with another woman in other place. What's more, nearly all of her husband's family and relatives know about it except her."

"Then did she contact you?"

I subconsciously asked."Yep, several days ago she suddenly called me and asked if I had any acquainted lawyer in Linzhou, and she's gonna engage in a divorce lawsuit."

Speaking of this, Youyin shrugged and said reluctantly "I've never been to Linzhou and I don'tknow any lawyer."

"So how is she right now?" I continued to ask.

"Her husband wants to negotiate with her todivorce, and he would give her ＄200,000.However, she refused and asked for more. As you know, her husband is quite wealthy and his family owns several factories in local area. So she's gonna ask for a least a million to compensate her lost youth."

"If she determines to sue her husband for divorce,then it's very likely that her husband will lose the case and get nothing left. But the point is,whether those factories and other property belonging to her husband were acquired before they got married or not?

Youyin shook his head helplessly, gave a bittersmile and said "That's the problem. All of those factories are owned by her husband's father, and her husband just works for his father without owning any shares of those factories. Her husband owns their car and house, but they were bought by him before they got married. After marriage, what she could know about his husband's income every month was only＄10,000."

After hearing this, I frowned and said "Well in thiscase, your ex-girlfriend couldn't divide most oftheir property even if she wins the court case,since the premarital property will not be dividedin a divorce settlement."

"Yes, and that's what I told her. But she was so angry and insisted to ask for something back from her husband."

I shook my head and sighed. I really didn't knowwhat to say and how to deal with case like this.

"May I ask what's going on? I don't understandabout what you said. Did your ex-girlfriend marry someone else."

Wendy suddenly cut in and asked cautiously. Youyin nodded frankly and said "Yes, and it's been more than three years. She broke up withme at the time when Tom was in prison and went to Linzhou. Then no more than a year, she suddenly called me one day, told me she wasgoing to get married and even invited me to her wedding."

"Then why did you two break up?" Wendy asked carefully again.It was obvious that Wendy liked gossip as most women. At such moments, she didn't look like aindifferent boss but a naive girl.

Youyin didn't rush to answer but took out two cigarettes. Then he threw one to me and lit hiscigarette.

Besides, she was the prettiest girl in our class as well.
