Emra, Bobbie, and Adilyn sat in the compartment; still shocked at Eleanor's behavior, but slowly forgot about it. Emra had taken to start writing the letter to her parents about Alex talking to his friends about her Legilimency, but she wasn't going to send it until after the feast. Bobbie and Adilyn had gotten back into their Exploding Snap game. Adilyn was not get any better, for she was still throwing exploding cards into Bobbie's face.
Suddenly, they heard a whistle blow and they knew they should change into their robes. Pulling out a blanket, Emra magically stuck it to the ceiling. Adilyn and Emra changed first; both being girls, they changed together. Bobbie changed after them and after he came out, Emra brought the blanket down. They sat in silence; bursting with nerves and excitement.
Bobbie had taken to rubbing his hands ferociously together 'What the hat doesn't come to life and I'm actually a Squib?!'
Adilyn would look out the window and make her thinking face 'Oh....how will they be sorting us into houses? I do hope it's not a test; I'll fail! I don't know that much about the Wizarding World!'
Emra wanted to laugh at her friends thoughts, but couldn't because she would sound just like them. In the pit of her stomach, a ball of nervousness had formed as she thought about the possibilities. Her brother and sister were both in Hufflepuff, but she didn't know if she'd be in Hufflepuff.
'I enjoy things that dad likes, but I have inherited quite a bit from mum! Her bossy attitude for one, her hot-headedness is another!'
She was terrified of being put in Slytherin. Not because she didn't like the house, no. But she's heard so much about her Aunt Queenie, that even though she was in Pukwudgie at Ilvermorny, Emra felt Queenie would've been in Slytherin house. Emra was already so much like Queenie, with her mind reading and even her smile; she didn't want to turn out exactly like her.
Emra was snapped from her thoughts when the train came to a stop. She, Bobbie, and Adilyn walked out onto the platform and the first thing they heard, besides the rushed, excited voices of Hogwarts students was the sound of a man's voice.
"First years!" the voice called "First years, follow me! First years!"
The three friends followed the sound of the voice to a wizard holding a small, but bright lantern. Emra knew who this person was. Her father said he had been his favorite professor while he was at school.
The wizard looked at them "Hello! I'm Professor Kettleburn! I'll be your Care of Magical Creatures teacher!"
Emra held out her hand "Emra Scamander! Pleasure to meet you!"
The man smiled and took Emra's hand "Well, it's nice to meet you to Miss Scamander! Your father was one of my best students!"
Emra beamed at this. Her father was always humble, but why would he not mention that he was one of Professor Kettleburn's best students. The three friends followed Professor Kettleburn and the other first years down to the boats.
"Four to a boat! No more, no less!" she said.
They climbed into a boat and waited for the fourth person. Professor Kettleburn's voice rose over all the excitable first years "Miss Sesily! I said No more than four! Get in that boat!"
He pointed towards Bobbie, Emra and Adilyn's boat. The three first years froze in their chatter as Eleanor made her way over to them, grumbling under her breath.
She climbed into the boat with a look of disgust on her face 'Stupid mudblood with her bloodtraiter friends!'
Emra felt her face turn red, but she didn't want to get in trouble for punching someone in the face. She took a deep breath and relax her face, but she still felt it was flushed red. She turned around and looked at Hogwarts. It was even more extraordinary than Alex and Lilith had described, with it's turrets and towers.
