Its 2020 and times have changed. The boys after having had their 'longer than planned' hiatus, finally announce their reunion as a band to the world and are dead-set on making sure the fans know they're together for good now.
Their contract as a band to Modest was set to be renewed back in July and hadn't happened. They were now signed to a new, much more lenient management who definitely weren't as harsh. They supported and were completely staying true to their basic rights and didn't meddle around with any of their personal lives. It made things all the more better for the band, even more so for Harry and Louis.
They were free to make their relationship public and this was truly overwhelming for the couple who had kept themselves hidden for almost a decade now. PR stunts and fake rumors circled their life throughout the band years and it was only fair that they should get a break. It was only a matter of time, until the perfect moment strikes.
The downside to all of this was that Zayn still refused to be a part of the band again. He enjoyed his solo career and didn't think it was for him. The others understood of course, but it wasn't fair calling themselves one direction when he isn't there.
The reunion was announced on their socials and the world was in a frenzy. #18MonthsMyAss, much to their amusement, was worldwide trending and it was utter chaos. They had a concert set to announce their comeback and on top of that, photos went viral of the four spotted together at a hotel.
Suffice to say, the fans were going crazy.
A week to the reunion show, Louis noticed how strange Harry had started acting around him. He seemed really busy and reserved all the time and wouldn't talk to him. Louis was concerned about him and panicked when he couldn't find out what was happening. He starting doubting his boyfriend and couldn't help but start blaming himself. Maybe he doesn't care for him anymore? Was it because he finally realized that he doesn't deserve him?..
Louis decided to talk to Liam about it, but didn't know how to do so. It wasn't until the night before the day of the concert that he worked up enough courage to ask the lad for his advice.
"Liam, do you have a minute? I have something to talk to you about." Louis mumbled sitting down beside him with a sigh. Liam nodded pressing his lips together and leaving his phone aside. "Harry's acting a bit strange.."
"Um-he is? What made you think that?" Louis could have sworn he looked a bit pale at that point, but it could have been his imagination.
"Well, he hasn't been talking to me that much and is out almost all the time! When I ask him where he's been he always lies, I can tell, he starts playing with his rings and that's a tell-tale sign."
When Louis didn't get a reply from him he continued his little rant, relieved at having let it out after a week of keeping it bottled inside of him.
"And when he's not out he's either calling or texting some or the other person and always has such a tensed expression on his face like he's planning something. I've asked him countless times but he never says the truth, he's hiding something from me, Liam! A-and yesterday the fans had taken photos of him, he was with Taylor at the mall.."
There was a tense silence after that, Louis sniffling quietly to himself. Everyone new that the whole 'Haylor' was meant to be a fake relationship that had ended in a few months but Louis couldn't help but think that it might've been more than that. It just seemed so real to him and no matter how many times Harry had assured him that they were only good friends, it didn't help when Taylor was always around even now.
