"Earlier today Professor Moody placed
the tri-wizards cup deep within the
maze. Only he knows its exact position.
Now as Mister Diggory and Mister Potter–"
Honora along with the rest of the Hogwarts students cheered upon hearing his name. She stood on the sidelines with Cedric's father as he chose them to wish him luck before the champions entered the last task."–tied for first position they will be the first to enter the maze. Followed by Mister Krum–"
The Bulgarians then cheered for their champion."And lastly Miss Delacour.–" A final pause for the Beuxbatons students to clap for her. "–The first person to touch the cup will be the winner. I've instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter, if at any point should a contestant wish to withdraw from the task he or she need only send up red sparks with their wands. Contestants, gather round."
"What do you think he's saying to them?" She whispered to Mr. Diggory who was looking towards his son. "Probably to get out if they need to get out, it's a very dangerous game. . but I'm proud of him, I think he's got a fifty-fifty shot at winning this. I don't want to jinx it. ."
"Right that's why I didn't tell him. I didn't want to get his hopes up I mean I do–but he's got an excellent shot and I don't want to ruin it." He smiled down at her but then looked up as Cedric approached and smiled widely, reaching his arms out to embrace him.
"My boy!"
As they pulled apart Cedric's father grabbed his arm and pulled him in close to whisper something in his ear. They pulled apart and he looked his father in the eyes before nodding and turning to Honora. She smiled but noticed he looked nervous, probably the talk of death finally getting him.
"You ready?"
"I wish you could go in with me. You're better at spells than me anyway."
"Cedric you got me, we're dating you don't have to flatter me anymore." He laughed slightly but partially acknowledged that she was right. "You've got this. Don't worry about me or anything else. And I'll be with you." She reached into his pocket and pulled out the Galleon he'd bought her for Christmas. His glowed a warm pink color that signified she was thinking about him.
"Now go, I expect you to buy me something pretty once it's over." She joked as a smile formed on his lips once more, still rolling his eyes.
"Yah alright Hon. . I love you."
"Love you too." Honora watched him smile sheepishly as she kissed him on the cheek. Cedric looked towards the ground before back at her one last time and then towards the maze.
"–Good luck Harry!" Honora waved to him as she passed, he only nodded in return, his face white as a ghost as watched her proceed up the stands to Hermione and Ron who also waved from one of the lower seats. The cannon went off moments later making the three of them jump. Honora watched as Cedric and Harry entered the maze, the large hedge entrances sealing behind them.
