I'm strong.
A tonfa slammed into a delinquent's gut.
I have to be.
The body flew and crashed into a wall. Spinning around, the owner of the tonfas striked another person down.
I can't afford to be weak.
The school prefect remained where he was, letting the other delinquents charge at him before taking them all on.
At least, not anymore.
He dropped the beaten and unconscious body on the ground, kicking it aside before turning his attention to the leader of the group. Eyeing him, the prefect noticed a dislocated shoulder and a swollen leg under the messy uniform.
He approached the leader, stepping over any fallen bodies in his path. When he got close enough, he slid a bloodied tonfa under the leader's chin and forced him to look up.
The leader met his gaze warily, and a moment of silence passed before the delinquent looked away.
"Monster." It was barely a whisper, but the prefect heard it nonetheless.
The prefect threw a tonfa past the leader's cheek and into the wall behind him. The leader stared at the dent the tonfa made before something dripped down his cheek.
The prefect narrowed his grey eyes. "Excuse me?"
The leader lifted his hand and wiped his cheek. "You heard me." He barely glanced at the red smudge on his hand before cleaning it on his pants. "Or are you trying to say that you aren't one?"
The prefect swiped his other tonfa at the leader's throat, drawing another line of blood. "I never thought you would be stupid enough to say that to my face."
"Stupid...?" The leader echoed before his eyes flared as he met the prefect's eyes once more. "What's stupid? Is it stupid of me to simply state the truth? Is that it? You already know people call you that, so what's stupid about it? Everyone knows how you look for stupid reasons to beat people up, everyone knows how you don't hesitate to stain your hands. So tell me, what's stupid about me calling you a monster to your face?"
The prefect's grip tightened as he took the tonfa from the wall and slammed it against the leader's throat, pushing the leader against the wall. "Beating people up for breaking the rules are not stupid reasons. They deserve it. That's what they get for not abiding by the law. You want to know what's stupid? I'll tell you. What is stupid, is the fact that you call me a monster when it's because of people like you that I am forced to do such things. Don't open your mouth when you don't understand anything, herbivore."
"When I don't understand anything?" The leader repeated. "Pfft. At least I understand why your parents would lea—"
"Shut up." The prefect's hand instantly replaced the tonfa that was pressed against the leader's throat, and raised him above the ground.
"Anything more and I'll make sure you never talk again." He threw the leader down and released his hand before suddenly feeling someone stab his leg.
His vision doubled and he stumbled, but he forced himself to stay standing. He tried to move his feet in an attempt to regain his footing, but pain immediately shot up his right leg.
The prefect let out a low growl in frustration, shifting most of his weight to his left leg before looking down at his feet. He saw a knife—a poisoned knife—stuck in his right ankle, and he clenched his jaw, quickly yanking it out.
The leader had taken the moment to slowly stand up, a smug smirk seen on his face as he snickered, "Who knew even monsters like you could be hurt like this. Guess monsters aren't invincible after all, huh?"
