Time skip to about a year

Everything was pretty great with the ninja team.

The others are more inclusive with Kai and his feelings and Kai loves being apart of their relationship. Although not everything is perfect.

When it became common knowledge of Kai's secondary gender was not actually a beta there was a lot of fighting. It was pretty political stuff, but it was still hard for everyone and more than once the siblings feared Kai was going to be kicked out because the others just could not deal with it.

Apparently there are laws that Cole, Jay, and Zane were very unaware of. Apparently when a omega of any kind is presented they need to be registered with a license of who is their guardian which is a nice word for "master,". Kai and Nya never informed anyone that they lived alone most of their childhood so that also meant when Kai presented he was never registered. He also needed to attend a stupid boarding school on how to be and act. Since Kai also had no claim mark or was registered some started a bidding war to try and own him. Omegas also aren't allowed to do any kind of fighting or jobs. Omegas are lucky to get a job that does not involve being a employee of the night because most places don't hire.

Zane, Cole, and Jay were always oblivious to these things and laws. They wondered why a omega hid their status if given the chance, but now they see why. Because Kai is a ninja he is breaking the law by doing his job. Despite all he has done for Ninjago suddenly credit for everything he has ever done is being given to others who did nothing.

"I can fight! It does not make a difference," Kai argues with the mayor and the police chief. They were all called to a meeting to discuss this. The police chief was more respectful than the mayor was being and is on Kai's side whereas the mayor is trying to make a profit off of this. "We have every right to charge you for him crimes. These laws were put in for his safety," the mayor said. Another thing the mayor always addressed the others as if they had been talking he never acknowledged Kai was in the room. The mayor was a beta with a stiff attitude. He always wore a formal business suit and had dark brown hair that was styled similar to Ronin's hair. "They are put in for nothing! The laws are made because you higher ups want every omega making babies by their first heats!" Kai yelled in outrage. The mayor growls. "Will you boys please keep your omega under control," The mayor said too the ninja in the room. "He has a right to speak," Jay responds coldly. "He does have a point sir. Suppressants only suppress a scent nothing else. We should adjust the laws so that omegas can fight if they wish. Kai is a excellent example that omegas aren't just a stereotype," the chief said to the mayor.

The mayor glares at the chief. "Remember I can fire you," the mayor said and the chief quiets. "I have two respectable men saying that he belongs to them," The mayor said. It did not take two guesses who the mayor was talking about. "I belonged to no one," Kai argues crossing his arms. "Well it's their word against yours. All you omegas are so ungrateful for the work we betas and alphas do. All you need to do is sit and look pretty," The mayor said. The chief scowls at the mayor. Kai slams his hands on the desk. "I am only going to say this once. I don't care what you do or say I will do as I please or else when you decide that you actually need me. Don't come calling," And with that Kai left scorching the ground with each step.

"Order him back here," The mayor yells at the ninja still present. "Nah," They said and left. They left the office with that and got back to the bounty where Lloyd was waiting with Nya. "Guessing it went as well as hoped?" Nya asks. "If we start getting letters about fines then they can see how well they do without us," Kai said answering the question. "At least the chief was being reasonable," Zane said. "Yeah that guy is awesome," Cole said. Kai went to their room and laid down on the bed honestly spent.
