As the crowd roared at the unprovoked bloodshed screaming their voices hoarse at the sight of their own officers gunned down. I could hardly make out the voice coming over the loudspeaker even with my helmet trying to filter through the noise. The ground in the arena shifted throwing up various sizes of square metal walls haphazardly amongst the sand. As the crowd fell silent again I could finally hear the clank of alloy plates shifting and orders being barked. I slammed into the nearest wall peeking around the edge. A squad of armored combatants were taking up positions shouting to each other and calling out what they could see. Their armor was a bright blue and sliver the logo of the planet's foremost armory on their chest plate. I ducked back behind the wall hearing the rounds ricocheting off the barricade. I checked my HUD my rifle reading only twelve shots left in my magazine. Bringing my rifle up peering down the scope seeing the video in my helmets HUD reaching out putting my rifle past the wall I could see the sponsor squad dashing from cover to cover firing briefly then moving again clearly knowing to stay still meant a quick death. Finally a decent fight. As one dashed forward trying to gain ground I sent a round down range putting it right through his left kneecap sending him face forward into the sand his screams of pain instantly sending his comrades running to his side. Squeezing off five rounds each one impacting on one man as he sprinted for his fallen brother. Every impact on his chest plate staggered his stride but he didn't fall. Finally I could see the shimmer as his shields broke and I fired again the round finally shattered the logo on the chest plate the poor bastard falling back even as his momentum tried to carry him forward. The remaining four stayed behind cover trying to chip away at my position. Five rounds left the slight shimmer of the shields present on three of the four. I knew I didn't have enough rounds to end these bastards. Just as I was about to duck and run as a sponsor rounded the edge of my wall our helmets knocking together before his knee connected with my ribs somehow draining my shields and sending me gasping for breath. It's was then I felt it the omniblade sunk deep between my ribs as time slowed around me. Everything fell away, the sounds the pain deep in my chest the feel of my armor against my flesh. I stood straight grabbing the sponsors helmet and driving my knee into his visor the helmet shattering under the force as his body went limp. I instantly discarded the body as I snapped my wrists against the small switches bright crimson blades springing from my forearms. I ran lightly not a sprint but a pleasant jog feeling the warmth of adrenaline flooding my body. In an instant I was upon the first of them swinging my arm out wide the blade humming sweetly as it found the gap between his chest plate and shoulder cutting deep and clean as I strode forward quickly setting upon the next lunging forward and plunging both blades toward his chest. His shields held out for the briefest second before splashing away my stride never broken as the small blades of humming alloy sunk into his chest snapping as I continued forward now unarmed toward the last of them the smart one who turned and tried to run from me, by now I could feel every fiber of my being filled with that warmth I knew all two well that lovingly embrace of chems and hatred as I caught her swinging a tight haymaker toward the side of her helmet feeling the flesh and bone caving in as I dented it sending the body slamming into the wall she had been hiding behind...

Well I know the new chapter is really late and short but the USMC doesn't give me much time to spend freely that and I did this one on my phone. Hopefully my stories aren't dead so drop me a line if you want more
