Perseus's POV

The next few weeks in the hospital actually weren't that bad. Annabeth had warmed up to me a lot, it was like we were friends. She had even been calling me Percy instead of Perseus. I'd say that was progress. Over this time, my leg had been on the road to recovery. It was healing slowly, but surely. It didn't hurt to move around as much as it used to, but I hadn't been able to put any weight on it yet. The various wounds on the rest of my body had healed, so that was a plus. Within a few weeks, I could probably be back in fighting shape.

However, a part of me didn't want to go back to the battlefield. It made me sad whenever I thought of leaving the hospital. It was pretty nice here. I'd talk with Annabeth for most of the day, and of course I got to sleep whenever I wanted to. For now, I figured I'd enjoy the time I had left in the infirmary.

"Hey Annabeth!" I called, trying to get her attention. She looked up from the patient she was treating and mouthed one minute. After the minute was up, she stopped next to my bed.

"Hi Percy, are you feeling okay?"

"Yeah, do you have any free time?" I was bored, and I wanted someone to talk to.

Annabeth looked at the clock. "I think I can take a break for about five minutes." She sat down at the end of my bunk, careful to avoid my injured leg. "So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Nothing in particular." I shrugged. "Let's see, if you could visit any place, where would you go?" Her eyes lit up with excitement.

"I've always wanted to visit the Parthenon in Athens. It's one of the most famous structures in the world." She rambled on about the Parthenon, but I didn't want to stop her. Her eyes were sparkling, and she was so passionate about the topic.

"Annabeth," I interrupted. "Where exactly is Athens?"

"You didn't learn it in school?"

"I probably did, but I haven't always been the best at paying attention." I laughed. "That's part of the reason I'm a soldier, it's hard for me to sit still. Out on the battlefield I can move around, it beats sitting at a desk all day sorting papers."

"Well, Athens is in Greece. What about you? Where would you go if you had the chance?"

"I'm not exactly sure, but definitely somewhere near the ocean."

"Why?" Annabeth inquired. "Do you like to swim?"

"Yeah, I love to swim, and I like the feeling of being at the beach. It's really calm and relaxing. I've loved water since I was a kid, so maybe somewhere tropical would be nice."

"Then I guess you're a Seaweed Brain." Annabeth smirked.

"What? Why?"

"Well, you said you loved the beach, and you didn't do the best in school." Annabeth looked at me, but I still didn't get it.

"So your head is filled with seaweed," she concluded. When she saw that I still looked confused, she sighed. "You know, it's not funny if I have to explain it." Annabeth turned around and looked at the clock, and her eyes widened. "Shoot, I should get back to work. I'll talk to you later Percy."

"Bye," I said, as she walked away to check on another patient. After she left, I laid down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. As I looked up the dirty white tiles, I could stop thinking about the way Annabeth's eyes lit up when she was talking about visiting the Parthenon. She looked so happy and carefree, and I smiled at that thought.
