So if you've tried digital art you may or may not know how to use layers. Layers essentially are like those old paper dolls you make clothes for.
You can have say, 5 layers and you can reorder them, see multiple at once, or edit them one at a time. Im not the best person to ask but I'm trying my best. I made an example too.
So first you do a sketch. Some people skip this step. I used to. Not anymore. I do my sketch usually in a light green.

Like so. It can be sloppy, messy, and ugly. Nobody sees this. Unless you're me.
Then you add a layer. Make your pencil/pen black. This will be your line art.
Trace your sketch.
