The sun peered through the crack in the young males curtain. He winced as the light hit his eyes,  shifting over to hopefully get a few more minutes of sleep, but that hope was quickly destroyed as the door to his room opened revealing a tall well built man. "Morning Lucas, time to get up we got a big day to prepare for." Lucas groaned and rolled out of bed. It was too early to be up and he didn't get a good sleep, so he was tired but he new better that to test his dad. He sighed and reluctantly got up and walked to his mirror, his orange hair was messy from just waking up and his blood red eyes were half closed with light bags underneath. He rolled his eyes at his look and went to get dressed putting on his white tailed blouse and black pants on. he then rapped his belt pack around his waist and brushed his hair. (drawing above)

Lucas smiled to himself as he looked in the mirror again, and walked out of his room to the dinning table were his father was waiting for him with breakfast on the table and a smile on his face. Lucas smiled back sitting down at his chair,  eating his share of the food.  "So how did you sleep last night?" His dad asked him, looking up from his plate. "Not the best I was really nervous and it kept me up" He sighed. Lucas's father chuckled, the smile not leaving his face. "Yeah, 'the phantom games'. Are you excited your finally old enough to enter this year" He said a proudly.

Lucas smiled at his fathers enthusiasm. The Phantom Games are held every year, were young witches get the chance to prove themselves by passing a series of challenges and the winner gets to become one of the great council its the highest honor and they get a lot of money for them and their family. But the thing is, only 1 witch every 3 years passes all the tests and this year he is finally 18 and old enough to enter and will be able to prove he is one of the best. Lucas's look back at his dad his smile only growing wider "Yeah I am, I'm gonna beat everyone!" His eyes sparkling with confidants, his dads face softened. "your mother would be so proud of you" he said picking up his empty plate putting it on the bench and then walking to his son ruffling his hair. Lucas groaned, as he had just brushed his hair a few minutes ago. His dad just chuckled and put his shoes on and heading out the door. "Well I'm off to work now, don't forget to practice for this afternoon I wont see you till after but I'll be watching, bye" He said closing the front door.

Lucas sighed and finished his breakfast clicking his fingers watching as a red glow shot out and rapped around the plate, placing it on the bench. He then grabbed his leather boots, sliding them on opening the door and locking it on the way out, Lucas closed his eyes taking in the fresh air, the sweet smell of warm bread filled his nose as well as spices and freshly picked fruits. He opened his eyes and walked down the streets, passing all the stalls until he got to a familiar black smith. Lucas opened the door and walked in looking around the corner to see a woman with long blond hair a black singlet and baggy gray pants on, as well as a leather apron. A metal mask covered face as she worked "hey Clara" He greeted,  the girl jumped a little, obviously not noticing the male enter the shop. she looked up at him taking of the metal contraption on her head and smiled up at him, she wasn't short she was average height but Lucas was pretty much able to look over everybody he meet. "Hey Lucas you scared me there, didn't even here you come in" she laughed, pulling him into a hug which he happily returned. They had been friends since they were baby's even though she was human and he was a witch, they were really good friends which was not uncommon but a few people in the kingdom find it a bit strange.

"Oh, your weapons ready!" She said braking the hug and running to her work space, she came back with a roll of brown cloth. Lucas unwrapped the cloth and his eyes sparkled as they landed on a magnificent sword, it had a sliver blade with red gems glittered around as well as roses engraved at the bottom and the hilt was rapped in a red cloth. Lucas looked up at her as if she was a goddess "T...this is amazing" He whispered, looking back down at the sword as if it was a child. "Its my best work, consider it a good luck present for the Phantom Games" She smiled, Lucas hugged her again and thanked her repeatedly and she laughed and patted him on the back. "Well, as much as I would love you to stay and hang out you need to go get ready for the games" She said sadly but not without a glimpse of a proud smile. "Well when I win I tell then about your amazing work!" He shout as he walks out of the shop "you better!" she called back, Lucas chuckled and started heading towards the forest area where he would normally train. Once he reached an area where he knew he couldn't hurt anyone, he started training. He was really excited but also had a burning feeling that something crazy was going to happen and he couldn't wait.
