Catherine waltzed into the Ministry. She had left school a day ago, and she had been staying at the Parkinson's ever since. However, after a brilliant idea from Blaise, Catherine had decided on a new plan for her holiday.

She smiled cordially at all the Ministry heads that greeted her before she reached her father's office.

"Catherine, darling, hello," her father smiled.

Catherine hugged him.

"Daddy, I was wondering if I could make a proposition for my summer holiday?"

"Of course, sweetheart, I hate that you can't spend it at home," he frowned.

She sat across from him at his desk.

"I am taking this Muggle Studies class next year to improve my well roundedness," she lied.

He nodded, "That's interesting, but go on."

"I was wondering if I could stay in a Muggle neighborhood with Blaise and Pansy for the summer? You could check in, set up wards, and enchantments, but we would essentially live as Muggles for the summer."

"Catherine, that is the most bizarre idea you have come up with."

"I know," she sighed. "It's just I miss home, and I can't go back. It hurts staying at my friend's houses because they have mums that they can talk to."

He smiled, "Of course, I understand, and I'm sorry that I was unable to have us go to France with the Malfoys because of their current predicament. I'm sure I can ensure it for you. Do you have a place in mind?"

"It's alright, Daddy. Yes, here," Catherine handed him a piece of parchment.

"I'll look into it, dear."

"Thank you," Catherine squealed.

"However," he sighed. "With You-Know-Who back, I don't know if I feel comfortable with you living alone with your friends."

"We will be okay. We will be undercover practically because we will be hidden with Muggles."

"This is true," he smiled. "I guess this might even be the smartest idea."

"Yeah, I think it's best, Daddy."

Catherine flooed back to the Parkinson home, and she started to pack. The last few weeks of school had been peaceful. She had some fun time with Daphne, Blaise, and Pansy. Draco maintained a distance from her, but he started to make snide remarks about her new blood traitor status. However, she would simply shut him down with a simple quip about him being not enough in bed. No matter how incorrect that was.

However, Catherine had formed a better bond with Hermione since the Ministry. Ron and she had spent some time together pulling pranks on Ravenclaws. Well, Ron would do that because he wanted to spend time with Cho. Speaking of which, Cho had even grown close to Catherine. They spent time together with Luna when they were out on the lawn in front of the school. It was nice, Catherine liked her new friends.

However, Catherine needed to keep the distractions because she needed to forget. If she kept the distractions coming, then she wouldn't think about the Killing Curse that came out of her wand. She wouldn't have to think about the death that she had caused and the death she had witnessed.

So, Catherine was prepared to make this the best summer she could before everything fell apart completely.

..........

Harry walked down the streets of Surrey. He turned the corner on to Privet Drive with the Daily Prophet in his hand. It was a hot summer's day, and the sun seemed to burn a hole into the pavement.

His eyes must have also been affected by the sun because he swore he just caught a glimpse of golden hair that resembled Catherine's in front of the Dursley's.

After the Weasleys and the aurors had warned the Dursleys not to bother Harry, they had ignored him except for Dudley. His cousin and he had oddly enough been getting on decently.

Harry continued to walk up the pavement, when he spotted a familiar girl. She wore a white dress with bare feet. Her golden blonde hair flowed in the wind as she smiled at him.

"Catherine?"

The girl walked forward to meet him halfway.

"Hello, Harry."

"What are you doing here?"

"Well, I figured that we could spend the summer together?"

"What do you mean?"

Catherine nodded her head toward a house that was two doors down from the Dursleys.

"It's my home for the summer."

He grinned, "Really?"

"Yeah, so do you want to come over?"

"I would love to."

"Great!"

Harry came over later that afternoon. The Dursleys barely grunted at his absence. Catherine had him come in the backyard, and he found it had been set up in a quidditch field.

Pansy was laying out in a sun chair, and Blaise sat in the sky on a broom.

"Welcome home, Harry," Catherine grinned.

Harry smiled widely as she handed him his broom.

"Sorry, I swiped this from your room earlier."

"That's a bit creepy, Cat."

She rolled her green eyes and gave him a rude gesture.

"Potter, stop flirting and come play," Blaise shouted.

Pansy waved over at him, and he leaned in to kiss Catherine's cheek.

"Thank you."

"Yeah, well, I figured the Muggles bored you."

"You're not wrong."

Harry took off on his broom towards Blaise. Catherine smiled over at him before she collapsed next to Pansy on her chair.

"This is going to be a great summer, Pans."

"Oh, Catherine, it's a never ending double date without parents. How could I not know?"

The girls grinned and clinked their lemonade glasses, and they soaked up the England sun.
