[part 1] Joining the discord

"Earth to Styx," my roommate spoke, "you good dude? Did you hear a word I said?" I shake my head slowly, my gaze still fixated on the article I started reading this morning. "Sorry... I got distracted," I mumble an apology. "Yeah no shit. You've been reading that damn article for like an hour," Ethan says in a dramatized annoyed tone. "Mhm. Real interesting stuff," I say.

"Gimme that!" Ethan says as he grabs my phone out of my hand, "ohhh, he's that YouTuber with the sexy voice right?"
"Yeah. CORPSE husband. I saw him on Jack's stream yesterday and fell down a rabbit hole," I say leaning over Ethans shoulder to continue reading along with him. "I think you mean heard. He's a faceless YouTube right?" Ethan asks. "Uhh yeah. We've only heard his voice and seen his hands. He has great hands by the way" I say absentmindedly.

Ethan snorts but quickly shuts up when he scrolls down to see the picture, "holy shit. As a bisexual is like to say that those are the sexiest hands I've ever seen."
"I know right. With that voice and those hands I bet he's really hot," I say jokingly.
"how can he not be? Could you imagine looking like Frodo Baggins with that voice?"

I choke on my tea. "Oh my god that would be devastating". We continue to joke about not living up to your voice for a few minutes, in all honesty looks don't matter but the idea was laughable. Ethan hands me my phone back when I get a text from Rae (Valkirae) inviting me to play among us with a few friends on discord. She said a few of the people would be streaming and I could too if I needed content.

I texted back a reply saying I'd set up my stream now. They had started the game about half an hour ago but two players had to leave to live real lives, fortunately I do not have a social life offline. Rae wouldn't tell me who the second replacement would be, she said and I quote "it's a surprise. You'll freak out". Now I'm freaking out, hoping it's not someone huge like Pewdiepie or Markiplier.

I start my stream and say I quick hello to the viewers as I simultaneously join the discord server Rae linked me to. I don't bother to check the people in the voice call before joining, Rae excitedly introduces me to a few of the players I don't know. The only ones that stick in my mind are Jason, Sykkuno and Pokimane.

I open among us and copy in the code from the discord as I chat with Poki and Jason.
"9 players? Is the other person still coming?" I ask in a brief moment of silence from the rest.
"Yeah. He said he had to get a snack first though. He should join any moment," Rae tells me.

"Styx, have you played among us live before?" Jason asks me. "I don't think so. Maybe on someone else's stream but I've never streamed it myself." I say simply, I'm suddenly cut off by cheers and excited greetings to the new comer. "Hey" holy shit that's corpse. My jaw drops and Rae chuckles, "close your mouth Styx. That's rude"
"What the fuck? Why are you watching my stream?" I say shocked
"I wanted to see your reaction. I hope someone clips that" Rae says between giggles.
"I'm sure they will" I say as I shake my head. I wish I wasn't streaming so that embarrassing moment was not broadcast live to all my viewers.

"What happened?" Corpse asks with his stunningly deep voice. Rae chuckles again before starting to explain, "Styx is a fan of yours and their jaw dropped when you spoke."
"You didn't have to expose me like that, fuck you" I whisper to myself. "Aww Styx. You can't hate her. I'm sure it was pretty funny," Sykkuno speaks this time. I can hear corpse
laughing in the background.
"I'm sure I'll be sent that clip on twitter later. I won't make fun of you for it though" corpse says, everyone goes dead quiet as he speaks. "Uhh thanks, I guess. Okay can we play before I embarrass myself even more?" I say quickly.
Everyone laughs one more time before muting to play the game.

My screen flashes 'imposter' before starting. "Wait, corpse? You've got to be shitting me. I'm imposter with corpse on the first round? Fuck me, I better not mess this up" I speak more to myself than the viewers.

Okay so Ive kinda wanted to do this for a while but I guess now is the perfect time since corpse is gaining popularity fast now.

I know this is not all accurate regarding the other players, I'm taking creative liberties with them as well as corpse since we know very little about him.
