Time To Talk

I looked him dead in the eyes and sat up. "I see you kept your promise"
Colby- "And after all this time to, you know me Bonnie, I don't lie"
It was true, Colby didn't know how to lie. That's why when it comes to the cops I have to be the one talking. I don't know how he stayed out of jail all this time without me.
Bonnie- "You never came to visit me. For five years you didn't come to visit. You're the whole reason why I was in that hell"

I stood up in front of Colby. No one else could ever handle Colby with his condition, not in the way I could.

2010
Dec 20th,

We kept all the windows open no matter the season. I was dead asleep in his arms and so wasn't he. Until he awoke screaming.
I sat up quickly hesitant to touch him that day since he had a knife in his hands. Who knows how he got it.
Bonnie- "Colby.. put it down. You're flashing out again!"

His arm swung at me with the knife. I had to roll into him to avoid being stabbed, but that also led me into his grip. He grabbed my neck with great force after dropping the knife. Was he awake? Yes, but not in his mind, in his mind he was blacked out completely.
Unable to breathe I reached for the knife, struggling to pull it out of the bed. I could feel myself falling in and out of consciousness.
Finally, the knife came unstuck and I slammed it into his side making him let go of my neck.

He fell onto the floor with his hand around the knife in attempt to pull it out. I took a moment a breathe.
Colby- "Better g-get stronger before I kill you next time.."
Bonnie- "And get better at medical for the next time I almost kill you."

That day, I managed to patch him up. Luckily I hadn't hit anything too important.
Colby- "I'm sorry, that day was all kinds of messed up Bonnie."
Bonnie- "Which part? The part where we killed those people or the part where you ran off after seeing me get arrested?"
Colby- "I couldn't care less about the people. I'm sorry I left you that day but you were a minor they wouldn't have but you in for long anyway. I knew you'd be out soon enough. This was bound to happen."
