You buckled up and drove to the pizzeria. Evan agreed to paint the pieces, and you decided to pick them up before you went in for your shift. The box rattles in the backseat as you go over speed bumps and potholes.

Arriving at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, you push the door open with your back to enter, carrying the box. The closing staff hands you the keys and you set the box down to lock the door.

You bring it into the parts and service room and set it down on the table next to Mangle, who still sits where you left her the night before. Jumping with excitement, you are finally able to put Mangle back together once and for all.

"Eeeee! ok, ok, calm down, Y/n." You say to yourself, picking up the first piece and clicking it into place on Mangle's leg. It takes you a few minutes to figure out which piece goes where, but when they are all on, you can't hold back your squeal of joy

First-person, Y/n's pov

I can't reach her activation switch from the floor, so I have to climb onto the table behind her. I flick the switch, and she whirrs to life. Her ears perk up, and she looks around, taking in her surroundings. I slide off the table silently and wait to see what she does.

She immediately heads to the open door, peering cautiously over each corner before stepping out. I follow, like a mother following a child to make sure they stay safe. She heads straight to the main stage, almost timidly.

"Hello?" Her voice is soft, but it still attracts the attention of the bots on stage. They seem so animated, sentient even.

"Mangle?" Freddy asks. Chica, however, hops off the stage and runs up to the fox.

"Mangle! Oh my god, they really did fix you! How do you feel?"

Mangle shrugs, "I feel brand-new." A pause. "Wait, who fixed me?"

Bonnie steps off stage to join them. "The new night guard, Y/n. The repair woman."

2nd pov

Your eyes widen at the use of your name. The interaction going on in front of you was already raising suspicions, but now you are certain. These animatronics are sentient and alive.

You want to sprint to your office, but you force yourself to move slowly and silently. It takes effort to control your breathing. When you are out of earshot, you book it to the office and slide under the desk.

"whatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuck-" You put your head in your hands, close to sobbing, "I've been prodding around in sentient beings for months now. oh my god."

Something falls over with a loud crash. You yelp, and instantly slap a hand over your mouth. Your heart pounds painfully in your chest. And then footsteps fall into rhythm with it.

Trying to stop tears from leaking out of your eyes is pointless now and you can feel them sliding down your neck. Is this what happened to the last guy?

Dirty animatronic paws step around the desk, pushing the chair out of the way as they went. You can hardly make it out in the darkness though. It- they?- bend down.

And you come face to face with two glowing red eyes.

Tears are flowing at this point, and you can't hold back a sob of terror or the subsequent whimpers. A large hand reaches towards you to seize your wrist. It pulls you out from under the desk easily, despite your desperate screams of protest. They lift you by your wrist until you are eye level with the now standing animatronic. Your feet dangle helplessly, and you continue screaming, even if any hope you had of survival is dwindling.

"I-I'm sorry!" You scream, though you really didn't know what you were apologizing for. "Please don't hurt me!"

They seem to notice your distress and their grip almost immediately loosens. The red eyes dim, the ears droop, and they set you gently to sit on the desk. They still hold your wrist, but the grip is a lot gentler.

A glitchy, near-useless voicebox groans, "You... fixed. Repair."

You're still trying to slow your erratic heartbeat and your tears. Still, you manage to croak something out.

"What? What do you want from me?"

"...Broken. Fix....us."

"Us?"

On cue, three more dirty, damaged, and disheveled animatronics step out of the shadows. They clearly haven't been loved by anybody in a long time and underneath your terror, you feel sorry for them.

They must've taken your hesitation as rejection because the broken bunny creaks again.

"Please."

Your heart breaks. Slowly, you reach out with your free hand and gently touch the side of old bonnie's face, or what's left of it. Worn fabric and frayed wires poke out from the sides, clearly showing that the face mask had just been torn off with brute force.

With one more deep breath, you exhale the last of your fear.

"The world hasn't been kind to you, has it?" You whisper. "I'll... I"ll do my best to fix you. All of you."
