" I can't be your mate," I told him but he wouldn't listen. He stepped closer before nodding his head. "Yes you can be and you are," Without hesitation, I answered back, "I'm not yours and I never will be."I walked off hoping that I could be by myself for a little while, but that's not what happened.
Hearing a loud growl behind me, caused me to turn and see that his wolf had taken over. His body that was once human was now a wolf. I looked into his eyes, not paying attention to his appearance, waiting to see if he would make a move.
Loud growling started circulating me, making me look around and see 6 other wolves. After looking back and forth between all the wolves it grew silent. With my eyes landing on my mate, a few minutes passed as we stared at each other.
Taking a step forward with a loud growl, the others joining in with him, caused my inside to boil. How dare they growl at me. With a snarl, I looked at all of them and said "Bring it on."
This morning at 4 am:
"You got everything packed right Melody dear?" My mom called from downstairs. I love moving day cause it meant new cities. Today would be the first time I would go and live in California. I've lived in every state of the USA and even lived in Paris at one point. I loved everywhere we went, except for Paris, I hated it. It had so much fancy stuff, it didn't make sense.
The Eiffel Tower and Supernatural libraries were my favorites, late at night when the people were asleep I would go to the Eiffel Tower and jump off. The thrill and excitement were fun, no worries though, that little fall can't kill me. Being a vampire has its advantages.
The libraries were my absolute favorite because they had so many books in my world. Learning about different species and the history of our kind is the best.
"Yes, mother I do." Grabbing my bookbag with books to keep me company, I stopped and looked around the rectangular room. This will be my last time in this room, this house, maybe even this city. Well at least until everyone in this generation is dead.
"How many times have I told you to call me mom instead? It sounds way more modern and human-like." I guess old habits die hard. Being born in the 17th century and having to learn new stuff every century is hard but also fun.
Sometimes it gets hard changing my language to make it more modern so somedays I would sound just like I did from the 17th, 18th, 19th, and sometimes even the 20th century. Which makes me 384 give it a few years, being 384 is young for a vampire but from a human point of view, I'm 17.
"Okay mom," I said to her, rolling my eyes with a smile. "That's better, now, have you got your stuff? Your brother and father are waiting for us in the car." Unlike me and my mom, who is a purebred vampire, my father is a demon and my brother is a crossbreed of both my parents.
Unfortunately, I didn't get my father's genes, which is unheard of in the offspring of mates. They always have at least a small amount of genes in them but I have none whatsoever.
Mates are the other half of your soul, your soulmate. They are destined to be together and what makes each other whole. Without them, the other would be forever only one half. When two mates are united their bond starts to form, and a connection is made.
With each species, their bond is different, but even being different species, their mate is still their soulmate, the other half of them.
"I'm coming," I told her walking down the stairs and out of the house with my mom in front of me. In front of us was a 2021 Nissan Titan. Its big black body with silver rims sparkled in the moonlight. My fath- well 'dad' was in the driver seat while my brother was in the seat behind him.
