I drive to my job it's about 15 minutes from my house. I leave a little bit early each day so I can come in early in case I need to help around the shop. I get there at seven forty-seven and I go in. It's a big blue and red painted building with the name, "Rusty's Auto-repair." Why people that work in car repair always have a name like, "Rusty," or, "Clank," is beyond me. I've talked with the owner though, and Rusty is a real good man. He's the type to stay late and help his employees when they have to work overtime. He's done that for me on more than one occasion. I notice one of my coworkers trying to figure out one of the newer electric cars. It's a lot harder to work on cars that use regenerative braking as opposed to hydraulics. Lately we get a lot of electric cars needing repairs because of a programming or wiring issue and sometimes when one thing is malfunctioning it can cause a lot of other things to malfunction too, especially with these newer electric cars. I walk over to Jerrold one of my coworkers and he was working on the brake system. "It's regenerative braking isn't it," I said. "Yup," he replied. "The energy isn't going back to the the battery." That's usually the problem. It's either that or people bring their electric car in during the winter time because they don't realize that when it's cold the car battery has a harder time storing the energy because of the loss of heat. That can in turn affect the way the whole process for regenerative braking. "You better go work on your project, trust me you'll need to," said Jerrold. "Oh boy," I replied. That means I have something really complicated to work on. I walk over to the car in my station and Rusty walks over and explains what I have to do. "Looks more complicated than it is. Trust me you're a smart kid, son. So let me explain what you need to do." He proceeded to explain about the work I need to do to basically completely rewire the electric car. He always gives me the hard jobs. He's a really supportive boss, he thinks I'm really smart so he gives me really challenging things to work on. I work on the car and barely make a dent on the progress but before I know it hours have passed by and it's already three. I don't have to stay after to work on the car because I have a while before the deadline. I usually stay after to work anyways but I do have to go get batteries and something to eat. So I told Rusty I'm not staying after this time. After a long explanation about how I just have to do some shopping and telling him I'm okay, he let me leave. I walked to my car and started to drive.
