We lay there, on the bed, both smoking. After a few minutes of silence, Ransom looks over to me, "I don't want this to be a one night stand."

I look over to him, "you sure about that?" I chuckle, before sitting up.

"Yeah, I'm sure I don't want this be a one time thing."

"You may change your mind, Drysdale." I look back to him over to my shoulder, "they always do." I take a long draw off my cigarette.

"Someone really broke your heart, huh?"

I nod, sniffling a bit as the tears form in my eyes, "a few people. My parents mainly. My mother made sure that I knew I was her second choice, I mean, fuck, she didn't even realize I left a party she had thrown for me." I scoff and shake my head, "and then guy after guy has come into my life, made me feel like things would be different, only to leave. So... I tend not to get attached."

"Yeah, I feel you.... my family sucks too. If it were up to them I wouldn't get my inheritance. And as far as love goes, I didn't have any luck there either, but we never know until we try."

I shake my head, "I guess so." I look back to him over my shoulder, only now realizing he had sit up as well.

He gets up and starts to get dressed. Looking outside for a moment before handing me his phone, "dial your number," he smiles.

I take his phone and call my phone, hanging up as soon as I hear it ring, "there, now you have my number and I have yours." I smile up to him, "but you don't have to leave"

He turns away from me, putting his coat on, "I wanna stay, but I gotta go." He comes back to the bed and gives me a kiss, "I'll show myself out."

"I'll see you later, Hugh."

He smirks back to me from the doorway, "have a good night, Charlotte."
