I head to bed, after waving to Ransom from my bedroom window. The next morning I am awoken by my phone ringing. I answer and I know you can hear in my voice that I just woke up, "hello?"

"Hey, sleepyhead, if you don't recognize this voice, I'm gonna be mad as fuck." I hear Ransom chuckle above what sounds like his car engine.

"No, I remember, don't know why I have you in my phone as Asshole, but..."

"What? You saved my number as Asshole?"he laughs, clearly in a fairly good mood. "What should I save yours as?"

I laugh softly, "psycho? Bitch? I don't know, just spit balling here."

"Psycho bitch works for me. Listen, you wanna grab some breakfast?"

"Uh... sure. I'm not sure if you can tell or not but I'm still in bed so..." this is a lie. As soon as he mentioned breakfast, I jumped up and started getting ready to go.

"I'll be waiting outside your house in the minutes, bye psycho."

I chuckle softly, he had hung up before I could respond. I shake my head wondering if he's too worried I'll say no to let me respond. I end up going with a purple shirt, black leather jacket, and black jeans, before putting my hair up in a bun and doing some quick makeup, before I hear the car. I look outside and see him wave to me as he leans against the side of the hood, hands in his pockets.

It doesn't take me long to head down stairs, I try my best to hurry past my parents having their breakfast, but my mother sees me and chases after, not catching up until I am on the gravel of the driveway, "Charlotte, where on earth do you think you're going?"

I turn back to my mother, still walking toward the car, "out?"

My mother stops on the porch, looking over to Ransom. When she sees him her demeanor completely changes, "oh, alright, well, you two have fun."

I shake my head before turning back to Ransom, "hey."

He tries to hide his laughter from my mother, and he is able to hold it until we get into the car and drive off, "okay, what was that about? What is wrong with your mother?"

"My mother thinks any guy is good for me. Doesn't matter who it is as long as he comes from money."

"Well, I like your family, especially that bulter of yours." He smiles over to me, "and you get to pick where we go for breakfast, babe."

"I have no idea, to be honest I really don't care as long as we stay away from here."

"Ohh... and here I was all excited you'd say it wouldn't matter as long as we were together."

"Well, believe it or not, I'm actually not in love with you."

"You mean, you didn't fall after last night?"

"No, I didn't."

"That's alright, I know a place." Ransom drives us to a small cafe in town, "come on, you'll love this place."

"You seem very confident about that. What, do they serve blow with every meal?" I chuckle as I follow him in, once I'm within arms reach, he grabs my hand. Once we get a table a man comes to take our order, it seems Ransom is here enough he doesn't even need a menu. "Come here often do you?"

"Uh, yeah, I do. Whenever I have an argument with my family I either come here or I go to the bar. Like last night."

"Well, I'm glad you choose the bar last night."

"I guess you really meant it, when you said a wild night."

I chuckle, "I warned you."

"Yeah you did." He nods, looking around for a moment, "so I had a crazy idea last night. Since my family wants to cut me out of my grandfather's will."

"What? Marry me so we get my family's money?"

"What if I use the money I will get from my grandfather and open a night club. Maybe move some drugs through it. Imagine how much money it'll bring back to me."

I shake my head, "that's a ridiculous idea. You run the risk of getting caught, without your families infulence or money. So no. Plus you'll probably snort half of it anyway."

"Fuck my family... come on, do you know how my family is? They are hypocrates and traitors. At least I am not hidding it "

"I still think it's crazy."

"What? Do you think I should go get some ten dollar an hour job and wait for my grandfather to die?"

"As long as your grandfather is alive you have cash flow, right? So count your blessings, save some of it or invest it."

"so you want me to be okay with what i have now... i thought you would be with me, Charlie," he reaches across the table and takes my hand.

"Are you even sure you'd wanna run a club. I mean, do you know how much work that is?"

"When you have money, people work for you. You know that."

"It's still gonna require some work on your part."

Our food arrives and we start to eat, Ransom focused on some people walking outside, "I know nothing comes easy. If you want a good life you gotta work for it. What about you?" He looks back to me, "what are you planning on doing about your family?"

I shrug, "wait until my dad dies. He utterly hates my mother. And he doesn't care what I do as long as I stay out of his affairs, so I don't have to worry about anything. Other than waiting in my mother to take a fucking chill pill."

He smiles over to me as if he's pleased with what I just said, "what about later on?"

"Depends on what happens first. If mom chills out I'll move out. If dad dies I'll still move out I'll just have more money."

"You say that like you want your father to die."

"No, I don't. I want my mother to realize it's not her god damn life."

"Then talk to her about it, no bullshit."

"You remember seeing my mother, yeah? She's drugged up all the time. We'd talk and she wouldn't remember it two minutes later."

"Yeah.. you're probably right." As he nods, Ransom's phone goes off, "I'm sorry, my mother needs me for something."

He pays and we hurry out, "if you hate your family, why are in such a hurry?"

"Because I wanna be there from the first minute to the last when my family is in a room together."
