The Secret Kiss.

Demi wasn’t your usual 17 year old girl. She was the girl you see by herself at lunch  or by a tree,reading any book. She always had a book in her hand. She wasn’t qualified as a nerd or a loner,nothing like that. She was very smart,but she just wasn’t your usual party-all night girl.

 Demi didn’t have the best of style. She isn’t into pinks or neon clothes,but neutral colors. Jeans and a shirt are her got to.

 Demi is 1 out of three sisters. Dallas Lovato and her half sister,Madison.  She was the only one in high school. They moved to Dallas,Texas from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her step dad got transferred to Dallas.

 “Have a good first day at school,honey.” Demi’s mom smiled at her, she was more of a mommy’s girl. She didn’t have the best relationship with her father. He still lives in New Mexico. They talk occasionally. Before Demi left the house,she searched her bag, “Where is my book?” she rampaged her bag.

 “What book?” her mom asked,dumbfounded, “What book? You know what book! The Boys in the boat book!” Demi crossed her arms. Her mom hid her books before. She heard her mom sigh, “Right there.” she pointed with her  freshly manicured index finger on the table. Demi was aggravated. “I’m tired of you hiding my books,mom!” She threw the book in her bag.

 “I just want you to make this year different,honey. I want you to have friends,not friends with your books.” her mom washed her hands and finally sat down. “I go to school to learn,not make friends.” Demi zipped her book bag.

 “Bye mom.” she kissed her mother’s cheek. She grabbed her things and rushed to the bus stop.

 She got some stares on the yellow bus. She was a new kid and she was reading a book. She usually got these looks anyways,so it didn’t bother her.

 The bus stopped behind Skyline high school. Yes,that was the name of the school, and no it wasn’t an actual skyline. I guess she had a confused expression because a brown headed girl came up to her, “You new here?” her eyes were on Demi.

 “Uh..yeah...where do I get my schedule?” it was her first day at this school,but it was a first day overall. “Oh,follow me. I’ll show you.” she showed Demi inside the school. This school was much bigger than her old one. It was overwhelming.

 “I’m Selena by the way.” Selena. Selena sounded like a cool name. “Demi.” Demi gave her a soft grinned, “So what grade are you in?” she looked around, “Um..a Junior.” Demi shoved her hands in her pockets of her jeans.

 “Alright..” Selena led her to the junior category, “What’s your last name?” Why was she asking Demi so many questions. “Lovato.” Selena looked around, “L’s.. Ah here we go.” Selena got in line with her.

 “Name?” this handsome male looked up at Demi, “Um..uh..Demetria Lovato.” Demi stared at him. 

“Here you go. I’ll see you in 3rd block.” he winked at her, she walked away, “So you have Mr.Valderrama!?” Selena acted like it was a good thing, “Um...yeah I guess so.” Demi studied her schedule. “For Algebra II..” she looked up at Selena.

 “I have him too! He was my Algebra teacher in my freshmen year, he’s like the best teacher here,and he’s pretty handsome if you ask me.” Selena nudged her arm, Demi didn’t know what to say, to be honest, she just wanted to go to class and read.

 “And if you don’t get something or you’re failing, he volunteers to tutor you. I pretended I didn’t get anything when he was my teacher two years ago.” Selena giggled, Demi just nodded her head.  “I’ll let you go to class,unless you need help.”  

 Demi didn’t know where 281B was but she knew if she asked for help,Selena wouldn’t go away. “I...I know where it is. I’ll catch you later.” Demi looked at her schedule, and headed straight off,getting lost in the hallway full of students.

 “Move it,loser!” someone shoved her, “You need help?” man hands landed on her shoulder, she turned around and it was Mr. Valderrama.

“Uh sure..please..English III AP? 281B?” she kept talking, “Follow me,Miss Lovato.” he placed a hand on her back and showed her the way.
