"C'mon Laurie what's on your mind?" My boss Tyler pats my shoulder grabbing my attention away from the tire in my hand.

"Nothing, sorry. I can't stop spacing out." I laughed and walked over to the car i was fixing for an elderly couple. They brought it in and we always do the oldest people or moms of the shops cars first. Its out of respect and everyone here knows so they don't pick fights. Plus, we're hella cheap compared to the newer one built down the street.

"Who is she and did you ask her out?" Tyler teased as he grabbed the tire from my hands and got it on the car. I smiled and chuckled before sitting on the floor, cleaning off my hands on my shirt.

"Her name is Daisy, Daisy Jones." I told him cautionally, picking at my hands. Tyler is like an uncle to me and Adam, so wanting Daisy is a big deal to him. It's his new neice he tells everyone. Daisy loves him too, she says he's the best.

"My Daisy sweetheart?" He asked standing tall, eyebrows raised.

"Yeah, but we're not dating. Between me and you her dad hasn't been the nicest so she agreed to stay at mine so she can sleep without panic. Ok? That's it." I said defensively.

"It's ok boy. If I need to take out Dave just let me know. I'd rather have it me than you kid." He smiled and patted my shoulder. My phone starts ringing and I grab it from off the floor to see Daisys name.

"Hey what's wrong?" I asked concerned, Tyler staring at me concerned.

"Where are you?" She asked quietly, almost as if she was hiding.

"The tire shop, I'm working. Do you need me to come get you? It'll be like 5 minutes." I ranble as I wiped my hands on a clean rag and started to walk to the desk to clock out.

"No, i'm coming. Let me grab my bag." She said before there was some drawers being closed and the sound of water running from the shower. "I'll be there in 10 ok? Just keep working. No worries." She said before hanging up. I'm a little confused on why she was whispering but if she's coming over to just hang out maybe it's to escape him and make him feel like she's just going out.

"My sweetheart ok?" Tyler asked as he sat at the desk.

"Yeah. I guess she just wanted to make sure I was working and to let me know she's coming." I mumbled before getting back to work. Tyler was hyped to see his sweetheart neice, he fixed his hair and told the elderly couple. They clapped and hyped him up, as if she was 8 and wore braids in.

After about 15 minutes of working, clocking out for lunch, Daisy walked up the drive way of the garage. Her hair was damp and she was wearing sweatpants and a cropped sweater, hair in a bun, two bags strapped to her back.

"Hello gorgeous." I smirked and she rolled her eyes. Tyler came out running and picked her up. She giggled and squeeled as he spun her.

"Uncle tyler, hi." She laughed as he put her down. He smiled at me as he walked her up the driveway. Throwing her bags at me, he walked her to the desk.

"Thanks." I yelled sarcastically following them. She giggled and sat down at the desk. Tyler handed her the cookies from Mrs. Joeys and sat on the floor by her.

"Sorry Love. Wow these are good." She laughed after taking a bite of a cookie.

"Their Mrs. Joeys, she's like a grandmother to this town. She wanted you to have one." I said as I took one. She smiled at the elderly couple as Tyler got their discharge papers for their car.

"Why are you here Daisy? I mean I want you here but why didn't you let me pick you up?" I stuttered out how to form that sentence correctly.

"I needed an excuse to leave. I told him I was going to see you about Adam and that I was spending the night at Jenny's. He said ok and then I left. Plus, i'd thought i'd see you work and then you'd take me home with you early. If that's ok." She blushed.
