(Laurie POV)
I woke up in the bed alone. I checked my phone clock and it said 3am. Was she in the bathroom? I got up and the door was open, no one was in there. I walked out to the living room, maybe she was embaressed and wanted to sleep on the couch? No one was in there but the kitchen light was on. There she was, sitting on the kitchen floor eating my mint choclate ice cream right out of the containor, tears streaked her face. She had my hoodie sleeve soaked in I would guess tears and snot.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked as I sat next to her. She started to cry more, she put the ice cream down and moved to get in my arms. I picked her up in my lap her legs on both sides of mine and held her as she sobbed in my chest. Gripping my shirt like before but she moved to cry in my neck. I rubbed her back and kept her hair out of her face.
"M-My d-dad and A-Adam got into a fight while we we-were sleeping and now their both in the jail till 9am this morning because I don't have the money to bail them out." She cried out. She was terrified of what they could look like right now I know I would to. Did they beat each other bad? Or was it just yelling?
"Hey, I got some money. Let's get them ok?" I told her as I picked her up and stood up. Sitting her on the counter I took my shirt off and wiped her face. She took my sweater off herself and handed it to me. I threw it on the floor and fixed her hair behind her ears.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ruin your sweater." She mumbled as she was holding onto my arm. I turned her face to mine and looked into her ocean eyes.
"It'll wash out love. No worries." I smiled at her and kissed her forehead. It seemed to calm her so I left my lips there for a second more before I got her off the counter and walked her to my room again to change.
"C'mon lets get some clothes on and head out ok?" I told her as I looked for a shirt for me and another hoodie for her. She stood next to me, still holding my arm.
"Laurie?" she whispered as I threw the clothes on the bed. I turned towards her and she grabbed my chin down so I was close to her face. Her lips met mine and I immediately grabbed her waist closer to my body. I pressed her against the wall as our lips moved and then I remembered what was happening to the world around us. I let go of her lips and sat my forehead on hers.
"God goreous, you've got me hooked." I breathed which made her blush and smile. Then her face went from a smile to tears.
"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have done that. We need to get them out. God i'm selfish." She ranted walking over to the clothes on the bed. She sat down and tried to wipe the tears spilling from her eyes. I walked over and laid her down, taking her lips into mine to shut her up. After a moment of enjoying her lips on mine, her hands on the waist and back. I moved off of her and sat her back up.
"Don't ever say that again. You are not selfish and don't ever apoligize for kissing me if you meant the kiss love." I told her crouched infront of the bed. She nodded before grabbing the hoodie and putting it on. I got up and put on my shirt and shoes before grabbing my keys and wallet. She fixed her hair into a bun and grabbed her shoes before jumping on my back. I piggybacked her to the car before opening it and waiting for her to get off and in.
She put on music and sung the entire car ride as if we weren't on our way to bail out her dad and brother. She poked me when she was bored and next thing I knew she was past out, head laying against the window. I parked the car at the police station and patted her shoulder to wake her up. She popped her head up and smiled, but once she looked out the window it faded.
"Hey, don't worry. Let's get them and go home ok? We'll drop your dad off at home and take Adam to mine or Jenny's" I told her. She nods as she gets out of the car, I follow.
