There was silence as all eyes fell on Alyra before she replied, rather gruffly “You’ve got 5 minutes; pack for at least a week. And bring anything that might help save your life.”

For some stupid reason, Dario jumped out of the car and did as he was told without question. That was probably stupid of me he thought, unlocking his own house door.

But he wasn’t leaving his two best, and only friends in the world. With a click, the third lock on Dario’s door unlatched and he sauntered in.

Ok he mentally prepped himself what do I need? Clothes, obviously, first aid kit, back-up first aid kit, water, food, other back-up first aid kit, and something to…fight with? No, I don’t fight. But, what if I have to?

And with that thought, Dario marched up to his room and picked up the most violent thing in his house the pepper spray.

Feeling proud of his choice, his raced about filling bags with things, making sure not to forget any of the first aid kits, and ran back downstairs, locking the door after him.

Alyra popped the boot for him, and after seeing how much stuff he had, raised a single eyebrow and remarked “I said a week, you aren’t moving house…” Dario huffed at her “I know, I just like to be safe. And hygienic. To the best extent I can be with you two next door.”

He pushed the boot down and jumped in the back seat of the car. Alyra stood, stunned for a moment. She wasn’t sure what to think of new sassy Dario.

But still, she let it slide; maybe it was a one-off thing; and flung herself into the car. “So. Road trip time.”
