Chapter 12: Anirudh's Quest For Bondita

Anirudh rushed to the nearby police station and explained the bristish officer everything. The officer said that they can't file for search warrant to their higher ups and raid someone's house in search of a missing person until its at least 36 hours passed to the time when the person went missing. Anirudh in rage started bombarding on british officer. Furious by Anirudh's the officer drived Anirudh away with the help of constables forcefully.
Anirudh felt very helpless he knew he do anything to save Bondita until 36 hours has been passed and he also knew that if Bondita is in Parvati's then until he reaches with the police force they would've been already escaped. As soon as Anirudh remembered that Batuk's best friend's dad is at a righer rank in East India Company he ran to the Sumati maa's house to use the telephone up there to call Batuk. As there weren't any nearby telephone facility in the village accept the police station from which the cops weren't allowing Anirudh to call. Anirudh had already put up a telephone line at Sumati maa's house so that it could be easy for Sumati maa to manage her mango field work and also to contact Anirudh directly.
When Anirudh came up there he saw Batuk already present.

"Dada, I was waiting for you. When Swabhagyawati Bodi called Bondita Bodi's mother just after you left we came to know about her absence." - Batuk

As soon as Sumati maa saw Anirudh she came and inquired about Bondita.

"No maa, didn't get any news about her. I searched everywhere. Batuk, I need your help!" - uttered Anirudh in moan

"Yes, Dada say!" - Batuk

"Your tennis club friend Justin, his dad is in head office of East India Company right? I want a search warrant. I am sure that Bondita is at Parvati's house." - Anirudh

"Don't worry Dada, I know his number I will surely call him." - Batuk

Batuk called his friend Justin and said about the situation. Justin, said that he would talk to his dad who is currently in Bombay for work and will let him know as soon as possible.
Its was already 10 pm at night. Most of the villagers had already left after consoling Sumati maa. A call came on telephone for which they were eagerly waiting for. Justim said that he couldn't get hold of his father as he had already left Bombay for Kolkata.
Justin's words shattered all hopes of Anirudh to find Bondita into peices.
Batuk saw tears dripping down from Anirudh's eyes.

"Dada, sambhaliye aapne aapko! (Get hold of your emotions brother!)" - said concerned Batuk

"How can I get hold of myself Batuk? My wife is missing, I don't know where she is, how she is and I can't do anything rather than waiting for 36 hours? It was totally my fault, if that day I wouldn't have agreed to stand for Anandswarup then nothing would've happened so far. I forced her to take up the case, to fight against me. Just like 13 years ago because of me she would be suffering at a place where I have no idea of." - uttered Anirudh heartily crying.

Meanwhile Giselle was having a cup of milk with her father after dinner. When his father noticed that his night duty security guard of his bungalow came late he inquired about it.

"I apologize for coming late on duty viceroy but there was an incident happened in our village." - security guard

"Our village? What happened that everyone knows about it except the viceroy of this region?" - Viceroy

"The female barrister of our village went missing this afternoon." - security guard

"Barrister, you mean to say barrister Bondita Roy Chaudhary?" - interrupted Giselle
