English was absolutely the worst class in the history of all classes. The teacher droned on about nothing that could possibly matter. Romeo literally killed himself because he thought Juliet was dead. First of all, he didn't even really know Juliet. Second of all, Juliet wasn't freaking even dead! And finally, true love was all a load of crap. She twirled her hair with her finger as she tried to ignore the teacher preaching nonsense in the front of the poorly decorated classroom. Kendra turned around to face her best friend. Of course Abigail was actually paying attention and taking thorough notes. Kendra quickly snatched the num. two pencil from her friend's busy hand.
"Hey!" Abby whispered.
Kendra grinned deviously. "Could I have my pencil back, please" Abby asked annoyed with her blonde friend.
"Nope. Don't worry! I'm saving you from boredom."
"Of course you are," Abby rolled her eyes as she replied.
"That boy is staring at you again" Kendra teased.
A blush creeped onto her friends mocha skin, "Could you stop"
"Maybe you should just put the poor guy out of his misery"
Abby closed her eyes tight in embarrassment.
"I mean he's obviously infatuated with you"
Abby decided to ignore her friend. Kendra groaned in annoyance. She was just teasing the brown eyed beauty. Kendra looked ahead and faced the fact that she would have to listen to the idiocy that was Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Kendra could not stand listening to the lecture after even just listening a minute. She instead chose to stare out the window. There was a storm coming. The sky was dark and large grey clouds loomed ominously up above. The wind shook the trees outside the building and the flag in front of the school was whipping wildy. Rain was pouring in what seemed as gallons down onto the ground. It was beautiful. Kendra loved a good storm. She loved the smell of the rain and crackle of electricity. More than anything she wished to be outside standing in the middle of the great winds and streaming rain but instead she was stuck in her dreadful English class. She sighed with longing. She watched as a limb broke from the large oak tree right outside the window. Her eyes widened when she saw the large branch made its way towards herself and Abby. She went to yell a warning but was too late. The limb made contact with the glass and the window shattered on impact. Kendra ducked as the branch went right over her head and the glass showered onto her classmates. The storm had made its way inside. The floor was wet from the rain and the wind howled as it made its way into the classroom. Kendra shivered and picked herself up from the floor. The class was in chaos with students yelling and running with panic. She heard Mr. Martinez yelled at the students though she couldn't make out what he was saying. She noticed that students began to make her way into the hallway. She followed the other students in a trance. When she finally made her way into the hallway she looked around trying to find her smaller accomplice.
"Abby! Abby!" she yelled, shivering from the cold. Kendra was drenched from the rain and she had cuts up and down her arms. Her blood had mixed with the water from the rain making it a soft pink.
"Are you ok?" a boy from her English class asked. Kendra shook her head unable to find it in herself to answer. The boy shrugged off his jacket and hung it over her shaking shoulders.
"Thank you," she said softly.
"You're welcome. You should go to the nurse. You're bleeding pretty bad."
She shook her head once again, "No. I have to find my friend. I thought she was behind me."
"Who are you looking for? I'll help you find them."
"Abby."
"I know her," he said nodding.
"You do?" Kendra asked not to recognizing the boy. She would have recognized one of Abby's friends considering she was Abby's best friend.
"Yeah, my friend has a giant crush on her," he said chuckling.
Abby liked the sound of the boy's laughter. She found the deep sound soothing.
"Oh, I'm sorry I don't recognize you," she replied meekly.
"I'm Aaron. My friend's name is Roman."
While they had been talking, the pair had made their way through the students trying to find their friends. Unfortunately both were nowhere to be found. Kendra became more distressed as she began to lose hope of finding her friend. She felt as someone grabbed her hand. The warmth was comforting and she looked to see who was the owner though she already had an idea. It was Aaron who had slipped his hand into her own. She couldn't help but notice that their hands fit perfectly together. She stared at the kind boy as he looked around trying to help her search for her friend. She studied his chiseled face. He had a strong jaw and beautiful hazel eyes. His eyes were a dark green mixed with what looked like flecks of gold. He had long dark eyelashes and thick eyebrows that seemed to make the boy look even more masculine. His curly golden brown hair hung in front of his eyes causing the boy to have to constantly pull his hair away from his face. She blushed as she realized she was staring. Boys admired her not the other way around. She was the blonde beauty that every girl seemed to be jealous of and every boy drooled over. She was tall with long tan legs from her morning runs. She was perfectly toned and was curvy in all the right places due to her athletic activities. She was captain of the volleyball team and a track star. Her long pale blonde hair fell in effortless waves. She was in short beautiful. Kendra had never paid any attention to guys unless they had made the move first so this was very unlike her. She was deep in thought when she finally spotted her friend.
"Abby!" she yelled gleefully.
Abigail turned around looking for Kendra. Kendra ran towards Abigail quickly enveloping her into a tight embrace.
"I was so scared. We couldn't find you," Kendra told her quietly.
"We?" Abby questioned.
Kendra blushed and cleared her throat, "Yeah, Aaron and I."
Abby smirked at the flustered blonde. Kendra examined her friend, looking cautiously over her injuries. There was a large gash on Abby's forehead with blood still trickling from the wound. She also had cuts that mirrored her own that ran down her arms. Abigail's hair was wild and matted in blood.
"We should probably go to the nurse," Kendra said after analyzing Abigail.
