As I'm checking out at Target my phone starts to vibrate , I pull it out of my jeans pocket and Hardin's name is lit across the screen.
"Tessssssss...where are you ? You said you'd be fast!"
I'm checking out Hardin, do you actually need anything?"Can't a man miss his wife?"
I smile, and tuck my phone back into my jeans.
I browse the check out conveyor belt and I see that I bought shampoo, conditioner, Hardin's favorite cereal, but somethings missing... I can't remember what though.. TAMPONS I need tampons! I know my period is coming any day now, It's a couple days late but that's normal .
Is it normal...? Do I buy tampons or do I buy a pregnancy test??? I can't be pregnant...I'm not going to go there, I'll just get sad.
I rush to the feminine product aisle and grab both.
Once I reach the apartment I put the key into the lock and scurry into the kitchen quickly unloading the items I bought.
Hardin kisses me on the cheek "You got me Frosted Flakes??? What did I do to deserve you?"
I smile at him while I take the tampons and pregnancy test to our bathroom. Should I take the test now? Is it too early? Argggg! I'm so anxious about this now..should I tell Hardin I'm late? What would he think?
I come out of the bathroom to see Hardin sprawled out on our bed with his notes and a pen in between his lips.
"Whatcha working on?"
He moves the pen between his teeth and sighs. "Nothing really, I've hit a bump I can't seem to get past..."
"Can I help?"
That stupid smirk appears on his face. "No Baby, thank you though."
Next thing I know I'm blurting out I'm late to a writers blocked Hardin.
"Wwwwhat?.. really?"
My cheeks flush a bright red "I don't wanna give our hopes up..."
Hardin jumps out of the bed and rushes over to me and pulls me in tight, he kisses my forehead and says "let's just take a test alright? " I'll be happy either way Tess."
I nod and he leads me into the bathroom.
