*7 Months Later*
My pregnancy has gone by so fast, Emery should be here anyday now. Hardin has been so supportive, he had the nursery painted and done months ago. I couldn't be more lucky , I never thought I would be married let alone having a baby with Hardin Scott. I know he will be a great dad.
When I waddle to our bedroom I find Hardin frantically packing the hospital bags.
"Clothes check. Blankets check. Toiletries check. What are we missing ..."
I'm standing against the doorway with my arms crossed and smiling at him.
"What are you smiling at?"
"Nothing, I just love you."
"Tess everything has to be perfect!"
The sound of water splashing interrupts us.
"It's happening , Hardin...are you ready for this?"
He rubs his hands against the back of his neck nervously . "Hell no, I'm scared shitless"
I grab his hand and squeeze it. "We will be okay."
He grabs the hospital bags and loads them into the car. On the way to the hospital Hardin dials Landon.
"Hello? Hardin?"
"Obviously. Who else?"
"Okay Mr. moody. What's going on?"
"Meet us at the hospital, Tess is in labor!"
"Oh god! I'll be there soon."
The line goes silent.
As we approach check in, Hardin is arguing with the receptionist.
"Did you fucking hear me? My wife is in labor you imbecile ! Get her into a delivery room before I kick your ass!"
"Hardin..calm down. Fighting with her isn't going to get me checked in faster..."
He sighs and kisses me on the forehead . "Fine, Tess."
Just as we check in, Landon comes running down the hall .
"TESSA! HARDIN!"
We greet Landon then I am wheeled to labor and delivery.
I change into my gown and plop into the hospital bed. Hardin drags a chair next to me and wraps his fingers around mine.
"Hardin you are hurting me" he giggles and apologizes , "shit im sorry Tess I'm so nervous to meet her.."
I gaze into his eyes and smile.
"Baby she's going to love you, just like I do."
He rubs my cheek and kisses me.
"Does it hurt Tess?"
I laugh and nod. "I'll be okay, once she's here it'll be worth it."
The nurse walks in a few minutes later to check my vitals and stuff.
"Honey would you like an epidural?"
"Absolutely"
The nurse laughs , "is this your first time?"
Hardin looks at her saying "is it that obvious?"
The nurse chuckles and grabs the very large needle.
Hardin squeezes my hand tighter when he sees me wince from the pain of the needle hitting my spine.
"You're so strong Tess, I would be crying like a bitch."
"Okay all done you can sit up now, I'll be back in a little while to check your CM"
Hardin asks if I need anything and I ask him for ice chips, since I can't eat or drink anything during labor.
"You got it baby. I'll be right back!"
As Hardin gets me ice chips I decide to dial my mom, and tell her I'm in labor. I was hesitant to call but she is my mom and she should know.
