Getting everything ready for the prank was slightly more time consuming than I had originally thought it was going to be. I worked on it in my spare time and in the rest of my spare time I was with the twins, helping them with their products so that they can one day open a joke shop. I didn't really have any time to draw anymore, but I was so busy lately with everything else that was going on I barely felt the urge to.
"A line for witches?" I skeptically look over the page of ideas they just handed me as they take their usual seats across from me. We would all usually meet in the back of the common room off to the corner and out of sight of any prying eyes. Lee Jordan would sometimes join us as well if he doesn't happen to find himself busy. Although I'm not really sure what he would be busy with because I know he doesn't do his homework.
"We were working on the love potion," Fred said.
"And it came to us," George finished.
"Cupid crystals."
"Heartbreak teardrops."
"Kissing concoction."
"Do all of these ideas have to do with relationships?" I ask. "It's almost a little sexist."
Fred and George looked at each other and then back at me as if not really knowing what to say about my accusation. I look up at the corner of the page to see a little side note that says "pink packaging!" and I look back at the boys.
"I say make the packaging purple." I place the piece of paper down and start writing little side notes next to each idea. "It's much more tolerable to look at. Also, you can disguise each item as a beauty product. Like kissing concoction could be a lipstick."
I could see the twins smile from the corner of my eyes as I continue to write on the paper.
"So you like the ideas?" George asks.
"Like is a strong word," I say. "I definitely think they'll sell well."
"So what I'm hearing is you're going to help us make them?" Fred asks.
"Well," I say, "of course, I can't trust the two of you to make an entire beauty line on your own."
The two twins rejoice in their moment of victory by pumping their fists in the air and high fiving each other. I quietly shake my head at their sudden outburst and wait for them to calm down.
"Oh," Fred said, "we also have this."
He pulled out a small jar with some liquid inside it. It was an iridescent purple color that shifted to a slight pink hue if the light hit it the right way.
I took the jar from Fred carefully. "Is this?"
"The love potion?" Fred finished for me. I do spend far too much time with these two.
"Finished it just last night," George says. "Couldn't wait to show you."
"Only thing is," Fred started.
"We need someone to test it," George continued. I did not like the way the two of them were looking at me.
"No," I say. "Why can't one of you do it?"
"Paige, we would need to test it out on you anyways since you're the only girl who knows," Fred says. "I can't prance around being in love with you. Angelina might see that and then where would I be with her?"
"Why can't George take it then?" I ask.
Fred only laughed, "We wouldn't even notice a difference if George took it."
"Why not?"
George smacked his brother upside the head, but Fred continued his laughter, "He's, um, allergic to an ingredient." Fred managed to giggle out a sentence and I handed the potion back over to the two boys.
