PETER AND I HAD talked back and forth, so by the time Friday arrived, we had a decent idea of our plan for the day.

"You gonna leave me here while you have all the fun?" Jalen whines.

I grab my wallet and keys then shove them into my jacket pockets.

"I can tell him you want to third wheel if you really want me to? I mean, Peter would probably turn into the third wheel, but we can leave that part out." I laugh.

Jalen's expression turns focused for a moment as if he's seriously contemplating the offer. "Nah," he eventually denies. "I'm gonna hang out with Lily later. Don't want to get between you and your new men."

I glare at him from over my shoulder.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing," He looks at me innocently while he bats his eyes.

"We've been over this, Jalen. There's no men. Just because I've hung out with Harry a couple times, doesn't mean anything." I say with a sudden sternness in my voice, finding Jalen's reminder unhelpful when I'm trying to do anything I can to not think of him every waking moment of the day.

"Mhm," he mumbles with a boyish smile. "We all know India Richards doesn't do relationships anyway. I ain't judging. Get that bread, get that hea - "

I throw a hoodie from the coat rack at him before he can finish his statement.

My phone buzzes. I look down to see a text from Peter saying he's waiting outside.

"Okay, I have to go." I grab Jalen's face and kiss him on the forehead. "I love you, doofus. Have fun with Lily!"

"Alright, alright." He pushes me off, shoving me out the door.

"So, remind me where we are again?" I ask Peter as we walk down the smooth path by the water.

"Odaiba," he smiles, glancing at me momentarily. "If we're showing you around some of the different districts in Tokyo, I figured this one would be worth a look."

After passing some drive called Rainbow Bridge, our car dropped us off on the edge of the large man-made island.

"So over there - " Peter points, "is Shiokaze park. And on the other side of the island, there's one of the best fish markets in the city." He puts his hand on his chest, "well at least in my humble opinion."

I smile, enjoying his passion for the city.

"And then there's the Digital Art Museum over there. That's pretty cool." He continues to gesture in the various directions. "And the Ferris wheel, but we don't need to do that unless you want the full tourist-y experience."

"Ah," I laugh at his description. "Yea, we can skip on that then."

We pause for a moment, walking next to each other in silence. My eyes widen as I scan the area. "Wait, is that the Statue of Liberty?" I exclaim.

"Yea," he laughs. "Well, a replica."

"Man, they really do have everything here."

"And, really good ice cream. We'll have to try that later." He smirks, turning back to look at me.

"Don't worry, that won't take much convincing."

Our conversation flows easily as we walk along Tokyo Bay. The time seems to fly as he tells me more about his work in publishing, his love for different cultures, and his family back home. I ask him a lot about Germany - where he grew up and his favorite memory of where he lived.
