"I will catch you, Eds!" Richie giggled running after the shorter boy.

"Richie, quit it, and don't call me Eds." Eddie demanded, even though he liked the nicknames Richie would call him, he couldn't let Richie know that though. Plus, this was Richie Tozier we're talking about, the more Eddie told him to stop, the more he would do it. Eddie sped up approaching his door, stopping to open it carefully, giving Richie the perfect chance to catch up and tackle Eddie. They tumbled onto the hardwood floor of Eddie's house.

"Get off of me!" Eddie spat, pushing Richie off of him and ignoring the butterflies he felt. Richie stood up and pushed his glasses up, feeling the glare of Eddie's mom from the living room.

After both boys stood up and Eddie closed the door gently behind them, they made their way to Eddie's room.

"Hey boys?" Ms K's voice rang through the house.

"Yesssss?" Richie said in his sarcastic-sweet voice, earning a nudge from Eddie.

"Don't get like that with me Richard, I've heard some things about you recently and I don't want you corrupting my son, so please keep the door open at least three inches."

The smugness was wiped from Richie's face, tears welled in his eyes. Eddie grasped his wrist.

"Come on." Eddie whispered, dragging Richie to his room. Shutting the door halfway.

"Richie what was she talking about? What the fuck did you do?" Eddie whisper-yelled, not wanting his mother to hear.

"Eds..." Richie started, his voice trailing off. Eddie was too concerned about Richie to complain about the nickname.

"Richie, what is it? Please tell me." Eddie pleaded, slipping his hand from Richies wrist to his hand, gently intertwining their fingers. Richie stared for a second love-struck, before pulling his hand away harshly, and falling against the door, causing it to shut, sliding down until he was sitting on the floor.

"Rich, please this isn't you, even if I don't show it, I care about you." Richie wasn't saying a word, which was extremely unusual, instead he was looking at Eddie with an extremely hurt look in his eyes, a single tear streaming down his face. The sight broke Eddie's heart.

"Richie, you're scaring me." Eddie, kneeled down next to the other boy. "Tell me what's wrong." Richie simply shook his head, then turned it away from Eddie. Eddie grabbed Richie's chin and turned his head to face him.

"Please." Eddie begged. Richie let out a weak whimper, tears were now streaming down his face. Eddie pulled Richie into a tight hug to comfort him. Richie cried into Eddie's shoulder.

"Shh, Rich, it's okay, I'm here, it's okay." Eddie whispered into Richie's dark hair.

"It's not, Eddie, the stuff they said about me- they were right." Richie sobbed.

"Who said what?" Eddie asked, suddenly protective, he stopped hugging Richie and grasped onto his arms, staring down at his glossy eyes.

"Bowers- h-he he said I'm gay - he called me a fairy."

"Richie-"

"And he's right, I'm gay Eddie, I'm gay, I don't like girls, I never have." Eddie pulled Richie back into his arms, staring straight ahead as Richie sobbed. He was told being gay was bad all his life, but was it? He'd known Richie all his life too, and he knew Richie wasn't a bad person, even if he was a dick sometimes, he was still Eddie's best friend and Eddie cared about him more than he could even express. Richie wasn't bad.

"Hey, it's okay." Eddie whispered sweetly, rubbing Richie's back and hugging him tighter, burying his face into Richie's hair.

"I'm sorry." Richie whimpered.

"You have nothing to be sorry for."

"You don't hate me?"

"I could never hate you, even when you call me stupid nicknames, or do your weirdass voices and especially not for being attracted to boys. No matter what you do, you mean a lot to me, don't forget that." Richie was silent for a second.

"Really Eds?" Richie smiled, looking up at Eddie.

"Yes." Eddie sighed. Richie smirked.

"You are a literal dumbass, you know that right?" Eddie remarked.

"Awee you mean a lot to me too, Eds Spageds." Richie teased, causing Eddie to turn a deep shade of pink.

"Oh my god, literally shut up!" Eddie said, smacking Richie on the cheek, playfully.

"Never."

"I'm gonna hit you again you asshole." Eddie threatened.

"You wouldn't dare!" Richie exclaimed, inching away from the other boy.

"Oh I would." Eddie said, tackling Richie and slapping his face, once again.

"Ow! You bastard, that actually hurt." Richie rubbed his cheek.

"Sorry." Eddie said, clearly not sorry.

"No the fuck you're not."

"You're right." Eddie smirked mischievously.

"I hate you."

"You don't."

"You're right."
