chapter 1 the safety of his arms

All she ever wanted in life was love. Oh, she wanted it so bad, but then she was captured and had experiments done on her she came back home even more broken then when she left. When she walked to the market place of the village people gave her weird looks and whispered mean things about her to each other. She tried to block it out but she just couldn’t. She saw people shut the doors to there shop or put the ‘closed’ sign up. She felt tears try to escape from the corners of her eyes as some of her favorite shops wouldn’t let her in. She stood frozen in her tracks as her all-time favorite store closed it’s door as she walked up to it. She then took off running to the only place that she thought would make her feel at home.

‘Why the bookstore, I’m like there best customer’ she thought as she got closer to the place she hoped would help her feel better. It was her sensei’s house she knocked on the door 8 times but no one answered. ‘I guess no ones home’ she thought as she started on her way home. She then passed a ramen shop.

“Yo Kakashi come eat with me,” a males voice said in a happy tone. She turned around and saw his scarred face. He looked at her like she was the same woman she was before she was captured and experimented on. She smiled at him and then let the tears fall as she ran away from him.

Obito’s (POV)

“Kakashi!!” I yelled then I turned around to look at the ramen guy. ”do you know where any good miso soup shops are around here” I said with a smile.

“I could point you to one,” he said with a smile. He told me where a good place was so I then went to the place got the soup and bought some eggplant on my way to Kakashi’s house. When I got there I knocked on the door.

“The door’s open!!” her voice sounded raspy as if she had just got done screaming. I knew what that meant. It meant that she had been crying. I opened the door and walked in. I found her in her living room sitting down on the floor.

When she came back from being kidnapped she came back with these huge wings that came out of her back. This will be the first time in 2 weeks since she's gotten back that I have gotten to talk to her.

As she sat on the floor her wings slouched as much as they could in the position she was sitting in. I sat down next to her and put a hand on her head.

“I got you your favorite,” I said as I handed her the bag. She opened the bag and then the box. I smiled as she began to eat.

“Thanks, Obito,” she said as she pulled her mask back up since she had pulled it down to eat.

“No problem,” I said with a smile. “So, what’s it like having wings,” I said as I moved to sit in front of her. She looked down then looked back up. The look in her eyes said ‘i don’t want to talk about it’. “Hey, if you don’t want to talk about it you don’t have to,” I said as I grabbed her hands and held them in mine.

“No, I really should,” she said as she took hold of my wrists, in turn, I took hold of her wrists. I scooted closer to her still holding her wrists. “You should touch them,” she said shyly as her wings slowly wrapped themselves around us.

“Are you sure?” I said as I let go of one of her wrists. She nodded at me. I slowly ran my fingers through the feathers of her wings. As I did so, she closed her eyes and leaned into my chest. She now sat in a more ladylike way. (you girls know what I’m talking about right? You know that way the adults told girls to sit when they’re wearing dresses or skirts) I let go of the wrist I was still holding and put the hand that was holding Kakashi’s hand on her back and rubbed small circles on her back, as I continued to run my fingers through her feathers. The start of Kakashi’s wings were right at her shoulder blands, so I stayed closer to her lower back as I rubbed her back.

I was amazed at how soft her feathers were, but I didn’t like how I could see dust fall out of her wings as I touched them. It was clear that she hadn’t washed them. She let out a sigh as her wings started to slouch, but were still somewhat around the two of us. She moved even closer to me. My legs sat crisscrossed which made it harder for her to lean against my chest. I tensed as she moved into my lap. ‘What’s happening here’ i thought as I wrapped my arms around her. I was confused, she had never gotten this close to me before.

“Obito, please help me…” she said in a sleepy voice.

“With what?” I asked as a blush spread across my face.

“With… the… wings,” she said already mostly asleep.

“Ok, so let’s start with cleaning them,” I said with a smile as I moved my legs around which made her wake up.

“Well ok,” she said as she stood up. We then walked to the bathroom, I knew with wasn’t going to be easy but her wings need to be cleaned.

After we go her wings cleaned up and dried off. We went to her bedroom. I sat down on the bed and Kakashi sat down next to me and put her head on my shoulder. I wrapped one of my arms around her and held her close. It really was odd for her to show such a vulnerable side of her self to anyone but Minato sensei. It was clear that she wanted to feel safe and not have to worry about anything. She would always relax around Minato because she trusted him to keep her safe. Now she’s doing this to me. So does this mean that she trusts me? I felt her breathing get slower and heavier, I knew she was asleep. I picked her up and laid her down on her bed I then got into bed with her. I let myself drift off to sleep.

I think it was the middle of the night when I woke up to th sound of someone crying. I knew who it was.

“Kakashi what’s wrong?” I asked as I shifted so I could see her face better.

“P-please stop… it hurts… i-i just want to go home…” she said through sobs. ‘Is she having a nightmare?’ I thought to myself.

“Kakashi it’s ok, your home and safe, I promise,” I said as I pulled her on to my chest. She had was very tense and was still crying but after a few minutes, she relaxed and stopped crying.

The change even I'm like I really made this and really want to keep going
