Chapter Seven
Natasha's POV
We walked over to the pizza place and ordered. All the while, the attendants were giving us weird looks for showing up in suits and dresses, but it didn't phase us. The pizza was soon brought out and we dug in.
"New York pizza is so much better than Chicago," I proclaimed.
"No way," Patrick disagreed.
Pete tried disagree as well, but he had previously stuffed his mouth full of pizza, making us all laugh.
"Swallow first," I chided.
He swallowed, then repeated his statement. "How dare you?!"
I rolled my eyes. "You could've foreseen this. The east coast is my home."
"Oh, where are you from?" Elisa asked.
"New Jersey."
"Huh." She continued asking me questions, like an interrogation, but I have no idea why. I guess she's just being over protective over Patrick.
I explained my parents were both immigrants so I traveled a lot as a kid. I am bilingual. She asked how I knew Nate and Pete and I explained I met Pete on the plane to Chicago and Nate went to the same academy of math and science as me. I had to tell her that I was studied applied mathematics at Princeton and currently didn't have a job.
"Finished your interrogation, Elisa?" Trick asked jokingly. "It's getting late."
She cast one more glance at me, then nodded. "Yeah. I am so tired, let's go home." The couple said their good nights and left. I was leaned up against Pete in the booth and we say in comfortable silence.
"So Princeton, where to next?" Illinois asked.
"Well, normally I would say to bring me back, but it is oh so lonely in that big hotel room," I told him.
He chuckled. "I'd tell you to come over to my place, but your friend might call the police."
I laughed. "I guess, you'll come to mine then."
We kissed and walked back to the hotel.
"Do not disturb, please," I called to the receptionist as we passed and, well, you can imagine what happened next.
