Jonas started running down a hallway, the opposite one Sam went down.
"Young man! Excuse me, young man get back here!"
Jonas didn't care, he was on a mission.
It seemed like Jonas was running for ages, Sam must have found her by now. She has lived here her whole life, of corse she did.
But then as he made his next turn, he saw Sam. And she was talking to Miranda.
Jonas couldn't hear hear their discussion, but he needed to know. Jonas started to walk towards them steadily, but as he made his first step Miranda looked up.
Jonas spoke first, "Miranda, just please let me explain, and I think, maybe, you could understand."
"I appreciate the offer, but the plan you have in mind will not work for us. So we have come to a conclusion."
"Miranda, if you just hear me out-"
"No. The decision is made. If you come with us, through the portal, then when the government comes, they will wonder where you went," she spoke in a spooky tone, as Jonas stood there in disbelief. No no no! They can't! "They will be so curious, that they might find the portal. If you didn't already know, Jonas, it is impossible to close the portal. But if they find the portal, it will ruin the world of freedom. So you have to stay here."
