Leads and Lunatics

-Hazel's POV-

I drove down to the station as fast as I could, knowing full and well Leo, Detective Valdez, wasn't kidding. What did they find?

I walked in the station, the bright lights blinding me, the sound of shuffling papers attacking my ears.

"We found a lead," Leo said.

"What?"

"We found the weapon..."

"And?"

"Sally's body... We cleaned the bones. Words were carved into them. 'Percy and Sally are gone. Only one left' and we think it's referring to Nico."

"We need him to be watched. 24/7."

"We already sent in a request."

"Good, but..."

"And Hazel?"

"Yes?"

"We found this along with it."

Leo pulled out a black chain with a skull pendant. I knew what why Leo was so nervous now. It was mine. Nico had given it to me years ago. When he first began dating Penelope. I never had the heart to tell him I lost it.

This could only mean one thing. It wasn't Nico she was targeting next. It's me.

A/N and that's the end of this book! How's that for an ending cliff hanger? I'm working on the first chapter of "How Do I Say I Love You?" Which is the final book in this trilogy!
