Trying to Remember

(Sorry for the wait. Also pretend it's the same Wednesday)

   The ride was silent. Music was the only thing that filled the air. "So what do you want to eat?" he asked breaking the silence. "Do you want Chinese food?" "Don't you hate Chinese food?" "Yeah but you like it so much that- Wait how do you know I hate Chinese food?" "I don't know it just came to my head."

   A smiled formed on both of our faces. I was happy he remembered something about me. And I'm pretty sure he was also happy. "So what do you want to eat?" he asked again. "In N Out?" "Sure." We arrived to In N Out and ordered. (Idk what they have at In N Out cause there's not one in my city. But I'm pretty sure it's burgers. Correct me if I'm wrong)

   "You want to eat here or do you want to go to the park?" he asked. "We can go to the park, if you want." "Yeah sounds good." There was an awkward silence. But fortunately it was cut off by the lady calling our order. "I'll get it." I said. He nodded in response. I walked to the front, "You and your boyfriend make a lovely couple." said the lady.

   "He's not my boyfriend, he's actually my friend." "I see the way you look at him. Your eyes are filled with love when you see him." I chuckled, "I'm talking to a guy. And even if I liked him he wouldn't go out with me." "Just give it time." She said handing me the food. "Thank you." I said with a smile and waalking back to Vallyk.

   "Ready?" I said. "Yeah." He stood up and we made our way out. We got in the car and drove to the park. The car ride was silent once again. We arrived at the park. He quickly got out. He went around and opened my door. "Here let me help you."  He said stretching his hand for me to hold. "Thank you." I said smiling.

   We sat a table and began to eat. "So tell me everything." he said. I gave him a confused look before answering. "About?" I said taking another bite. "Our friendship. You know our journey." I sighed, "Well about three years ago I saw you on my explore page on Instagram and I followed you." "Why did you follow me?" "Oh you know I just thought you were somewhat cute." I said shyly." I looked up to see a smile on his face.

   "Keep going." "After that you followed me. And you dm'd me. We started talking from there. We facetimed each other everyday. Like a month ago I surprised you by coming to New Jersey. And then the accident happened and we're here now." I said with my eyes slightly watery. I could feel his eyes on me. "I think I remember when you followed me. And when I dm'd you. If I'm not wrong what I texted was, 'Do you like oranges?'." He said with a laugh.

   I laughed, "It was. I thought it was so random and weird at the same time." "I know I regretted it the second I sent it." he said still laughing. "I didn't know what else to say. And I feel like everybody says 'Hey'." "Yeah it gets boring." "And I'm pretty sure we have most things in common." he said. "We do. What do you remember we have in common?"

   "Color, superhero, chips, candy, fruit, and holiday." "Ok say each one." "Red, Batman, funyuns, air heads, watermelon, Christmas." "They're all right. I'm surprised." "That kinda hurted." I laughed. "Hurted is not a word." I said. "Well you used it so much when we talked that it got stuck to me." "True." We finished eating and threw our wrappers away.

   We walked and talked for a while before going home. He opened the door for me again. "Thank you." "No problem." "Vallyk I had fun today." "Me too. I hope we can do it more often." "Definitely will. I should probably head inside." "Yeah."

   As I was walking towards the front door I felt Vallyk hold my wrist and turn me so I could face him. "I really hope to remember every single moment I had with you. Doesn't matter if it was a simple text or meeting in real life." "Me too." I felt both of us start to lean in. And kiss. "Y/n!!" I heard as I pulled away from Vallyk.

   I turned to the door and it was Mattia. He waa angry. "Vallyk I should go." "Ok text me." "I will." I gave one last quick hug before walking towards the house. I closed the door behind me to find Mattia standing behind me. "What the hell was that?" he shouted. "I- I'm sorry." "I really thought you took this seriously." "I do. It's just that-" "THAT WHAT!?"
