Alright, when Sans told you he was going to take you somewhere nice, you didn't expect him to take you here. Of all the "nice" places he could have brought you to, Sans decided to take you to a dump, a literal dump. Sans had held you delicately by the hand guiding you with a blindfold over your eyes. You don't understand the significance of the blindfold but Sans had insisted you wear it. When it was revealed that you were at a dump you weren't sure what to feel. But by the look of Sans' brightly glowing red eyes, you could tell this place was special to the monster.

You laughed a bit and accepted that this was the best you were gonna get. Exploring the underground may not be as fulfilling as you thought. But the goofy smile Sans had on his face was enough to make you change your mind about the place in an instance. The dump was oddly, beautiful..? Eh, beautiful was an overstatement but you didn't think the place was ugly. Besides, Sans seemed to be so happy that he brought you here.

"So you and Papyrus used to come here a lot?" You asked your sleeves folded up as you rummaged through various junk. Sans on the other hand did the same. He told you that many things fell from the surface and into the underground, claiming you could find some valuable things if you looked right.

"Heh, yeah. Paps and I used to come here all the time, it's a great way to find things to entertain you." Sans explained. You kept your hands and eyes busy by searching through the dump. So far you haven't found anything of interest or value.

"Oh yeah? What would you come here to look for?" You asked truly curious about the skeleton's interest. Sans takes a moment to respond, you were so sure he wasn't going to answer, that's why you turned your body to look at him. Sans was facing his back at you.

"Books." He finally admits in a hurry. You glance back down at the pile of junk. Why did he hesitate to answer? You press further. "Books huh? What kind of books?" You ask feeling the need to press on this topic. Sans shrugs "Anything that looked good, science, astronomy... Romance novels..." You blink a few times before processing what you just heard. Glancing at Sans one more time you can see his face becoming slightly flushed.

"Whaaat?? Romance novels? Heh, are you trying to make a pun?" You suspiciously point out. Sans laughs a bit not sure why he allowed himself to tell you such a personal thing but hell he didn't want to lie to you either. But Sans being into romance? You couldn't picture this tall horrifying skeleton to be into such... Fluff? You imagined something like horror, suspense, sci-fi, anything else but romance.

"Heh, it's true, sometimes a book would have missing pages so I'd make an excuse just to come down here and find it..." Sans admitted. You smiled, adoring the far-away look Sans had, it was like you were seeing a soft part of him you had never seen before. "I met a lot of monsters here, so did Papyrus, he practically flourished here. Making friends almost immediately." Sans suddenly burst into a giant grin letting out a pleasant laugh.

"I remember this one-time Papyrus and Undyne tried searching for materials for his costume he wanted me to make, he wanted to wear it at a party or somethin'." You listened intently, silently wondering when and how Undyne and the skeleton brothers were friends. They must have been really good friends because the look on Sans' face was just so-- happy..? You don't think Sans realizes he said that name because he was talking so casually.

"They spent hours searching, Papyrus eventually got upset that he couldn't find any fabric to complete his costume that he ended up falling down the waterfall." Sans kept chuckling to himself.

"Lucky for him he fell right onto a pile of old clothes. You should have seen his face, Undyne and I just couldn't stop laughing! We--!" Sans had stopped. His voice cut off making you wonder what happened. Did he trigger a memory? Sans was just dazed starting in the direction of the waterfall he spoke of. Your mouth became dry as you began to worry about Sans having another breakdown. You went over to the frozen skeleton and gently took his hands squeezing them to help him recognize his surroundings.
