Masha got down the stairs from the house's sit-out which lead to the car porch. She stood on the foot path waiting for the arrival of the school bus. She had read the newspaper and made sure that there is no hartal that day, infact she does that everyday. She started observing the surrounding.

Her eyes roamed around the mini street and reached the bus stop just opposite to her house. There was a young man who looked like a college student with a backpack on his shoulders. He had glasses giving him a nerdy look and had worn formals. She wondered who this new person is, she hadn't seen him anywhere around.

He, felt the girl's gaze on him and lifted his head to smile at her. She gave him an innocent smile back. Masha took note of the bus he'd gotten into. It was a white bus wih blue symmetrical lines on it. It arrived at sharp 8:15 AM daily. The bus's name was Bright. So she called it the Bright Bus.

He was there everyday except on Fridays and Sundays. She guessed it might be a holiday for him.

Days passed and Masha never misses a chance to steal glances at him as he looked very similar to her cousin brother, who was very close to her until he died in a car accident.

One day Masha saw him crossing the road. Her heart skipped a beat. She wondered if he was coming to ask why she'd been staring at him or something.

He wasn't exactly coming to her, she heard him asked a man who was a little away from her "Did the bus that comes at 8:15 leave?"
The man shook his head and said that he didn't know.  She knew the bus hadn't left so before she could even think "No,it didn't come. It's not time." She blurted out. He gave her a disbelieving look at first and soon enough his lips curved and a smile formed on his face. He thanked her and crossed back and stood where he usually stand.

Masha mentally facepalmed at her behaviour. It was impolite to eavesdrop and answer a question that wasn't asked to her. She sighed and soon Bright Bus arrived. He sat in his usual seat. Before the bus left he peeped out through the bus's window and waved at Masha. She stood shocked at first but then quickly waved back.

After that day he used to wave at her more often. She wished if she had a brother like him. And as time flies, a year passed and the smiling and waving session continued.

One fine day Masha got ready for school as usual and went to read newspaper. And you know the reason. But one news caught her attention. It said "Bus hit truck;18 people lost their life,12 people in critical condition" she gasped and took on to read the details. It was the Bright Bus. She looked at the photos of the people who lost their lives and was taken aback to see a familiar face, a smiling face with glasses, it was Him. Aman, 21years.

She found it difficult to breathe. Tears threatened to fall out from her eyes. She shoved the paper away and stood up. Masha waved goodbye to her parents and went to her usual spot. She couldn't help but look at the empty place where he used to stand. When she waved a goodbye to him the day before little did she know it would be the last one. Unintentionally a tear slipped from her eyes she looked down and waited for her school bus to arrive.

Masha knew it won't be same anymore. Waiting for her bus would become more dreadful than ever. Even after days she couldn't keep herself away from looking at the spot he used to stand.

Some people are like that we might have only seen them but not necessarily have talked to them, but they may have a huge impact on us. And life is sometimes bitter that it takes away the people who gave you a company by simply smiling too soon and leave you alone in the world full of people.
And that's what people call Destiny, sometimes sweet sometimes bitter.
