Chapter 18: Till' My Last Heartbeat (Last Chapter)

*BANG*

The room was filled with silence. It felt like everything went into slowmotion. The girls screamed. The guard slowly lowered the gun. The girls were stunned to what had just happened.

Yena. Yena was here and grabbed the guard's gun at the last minute and didn't think twice to shoot Gyuri. Nurses and doctors came running inside the room to see a bloody sheet on top of the sleeping Chaewon and a Gyuri who's on the floor with a bullet to her chest.

Behind Gyuri was a bullet. The bullet went through and through. No one was speaking. Only silence filled the room. Yena, snapping out of her thoughts rushed to Chaewon's side to see if she was injured. Luckily she wasn't.

The girls sighed in relief to see their fake maknae fine.

The months have passed and then years. Two years. It has been two years since Chaewon fell into a coma. No one ever thought of giving up especially Yena. But the thought came in to her mind when she have these dreams that Chaewon is suffering.

It's now midnight and Yena still wasn't sleeping. So she decided to speak to Chaewon like she would always do whenever she was bored.

"Chaewonie. I miss you. You know that? Did you know who operated on you two years ago? I-It was me. I-I operated o-on you. I promised didn't I? Now, I'm back to being a surgeon.

Whenever there is a surgery. I would only think of you. Only you. The time that I operated on you, I just thought of our happy memories. Our happy days. I was actually smiling like an idiot throughout your surgery.

I love you. I love you so much that it hurts me seeing you get hurt. So please Chaewon. Tell me. If you're hurting, please rest. Because it pains me more to see you suffer. To see you hurting because you're fighting for me.

I know you promised me that you would fight. Fight until your last heartbeat. But maybe this is it. Maybe this is our story. This is how it ends. Please Chaewon. If you're hurting. Stop. Just rest. Please. I'm begging you."

Yena sobbed beside Chaewon who wasn't responsive. Yena wasn't sure if Chaewon could hear her but she was wishing she did. Unknown to Yena, Chaewon could really hear her and knew that if she gave false hope to Yena, the older would just hurt more.

If Chaewon would leave soon, maybe Yena would hurt less in the future and would find someone to be with faster while she's still young. 'I'm sorry unnie. I'm sorry if promises were made to be broken.'

•~5 Years Later~•

•~Yena's POV~•

"Chaewon-ah! Get Chaena! She's fighting again with her sister!" I called to my wife.

"Chaena! Come here!" Chaewon said authoritively. Man, she looks hot doing that.

"Yes mommy?" Chaena, our youngest daughter. Chaewon and I married after 2 years of recovery from her coma. Chaena and Yewon was a proof of our love. Yewon was given birth by me while our youngest, by Chaewonie.

After her coma, she flat-lined but was revived and after she was revived, she woke up. I immediately called our friends to come to the hospital since Chaewon woke up.

As Chaewon scolded our baby, I looked up the stairs to see Yewon our eldest daughter who is 2 years old. While Chaena is 1 year old. I then scooped up Yewon from the stairs and hugged Chaewon and Chaena.

"I love you. I love you. I love you. I love the 3 of you. I love youuu~!" I screamed as they laughed.

"I know Yena, I know. But you gotta move on."

"Huh?" I asked confusedly.

"Yena, I know you're devistated but please. Move on. Just don't forget that I love you. Now, wake up. Let go."

I suddenly sat up catching my breath. A dream. A stupid dream!

I trashed my room and sat in the middle. The lights weren't on but I saw our picture. The picture I took when we made our promises. They were right. Promises were made to be broken.

After telling Chaewon to give up if she was hurting, I heard a constant sound of beeping that I never wanted to hear in my entire life. It was the most devistating day of my life.

I immediately called the others after Chaewon flatlined and told them what happened but when the doctor got out of the room, Chaewon was gone. She was really gone. I hated that day. That one stupid day.

I got up and wiped my tears away. I went to a local flower shol and went to the cemetery.

"Hello Chaewon. I hope you're doing well there. I never thought that our story would end before it even started. I never thought that it would be this early.

Did you know that that Eunbi unnie and Hyewon unnie married? Yep, the girls broke up. Yujin and Wonyoung are now girlfriends, Hitomi and Nako are now engaged, Sakura and Chaeyeon are now getting married next year and Yuri and Minju are now also engaged.

Can you believe it? While me? Well, it's still you. It's always been you. I'm sorry if I failed you. I'm so sorry Chaewon. I saved you from Gyuri but either way you were hurting. That's why you gave up right? I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

I love you Chaewon, I will always love you. Till' My Last Heartbeat."

Yena then placed the flowers on Chaewon's grave.
