Midnight.

I was restless, as I am any night that I don't take my medication, so I had decided to spend my night playing games on my tablet. This isn't really a new thing, either; I spend at least part of most nights either on my tablet or my iPod playing a game of some sort. Most of the time, I play MMORPGs on my tablet after roleplaying on my iPod, but tonight was one of the rare times I decided to play what some refer to as The Game of Death: Majora's Mask.

I don't play it very often, mostly because I get frustrated when I can't get further than I was the last time I played. You see, I'm not very good at the Legend of Zelda series, but I play them anyway because I'm drawn to them. I guess you could say it's because I know of a certain someone who likes to hide in one of the games in that series, and would do just about anything to meet him.

I bet at least one of you thinks I'm insane now, huh? Well, I can't say I blame you. I mean, who would want to meet a killer on purpose, right? Wrong. Because the only way this particular killer can do his job is if you let him get into your head and scare you to death, which is exactly what I'm NOT going to do. A/N: pfft 4th wall~? What 4th wall~? I see no wall there~ lol x3

It all began just after Link had been returned to his human body. The game glitched really bad, and Link was facing the screen with his eyes like inverted red orbs and blood streaming down his face from them.

"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" he was saying. He had a strangely evil grin on his face when he said it, and my tablet's screen went black soon afterwards.

"BEN, you ass! It took me forever to get to that point!" I semi-yelled at the black screen in frustration. A few seconds later --- that was a bit delayed, BEN --- white words appeared on the screen. It said, "You shouldn't have done that..."

Yeah, right. Sure. I rolled my eyes at the repetitiveness of his meant to be tricks. "Mess with my game all you want, BEN. The only thing that does is frustrate me," I told him, setting the tablet down on the bed and stepping back in case he decided to try and crawl out of it. I had no TV in the room at the time, so my tablet was his only way into it, and I would give him enough space to get out if he decided to try and scare me in person.

Sure enough, out he came into my room, just as I expected. "Took you long enough," I said. "I confused you, didn't I?" He said nothing. "You were caught off guard for a sec when I called you by name," I accused as he half walked, half floated up to me. "You are the most dim-witted human I have ever met," he retorted, putting his thumbs on my temples. "How dare you?! I know your tricks, BEN Drowned. I've read them all so closely that I could perform them myself if given the power," I countered. He smirked. "Oh really. What am I going to do now, then?" I gave him my best you-can't-break-me-because-I-know-all-your-plans glare. "Most likely you are going to knock me out and put me in the worst nightmare you can pull out of my head, but it won't work the way you want it to. I can promise you that." I nearly spat the words at him, but he didn't even flinch. "I'm right, aren't I?" I asked stubbornly. He lowered his arms.

"You're smarter than I thought. Tell me, then; why did it take you so long to reach a part in my game that most players get to before I can even notice them?" he asked. I crossed my arms in frustration at his obvious insult, but sighed and replied truthfully with my voice as calm as I could manage.

"Honestly, I'm not very good at games like the LoZ series, but I'm decent at MMORPG." I let some of my annoyance seep back into my voice now as I continued. "Now, are you here to kill me, or to lecture me on my lack of gaming skills?"
He looked at me with surprise etched in his features. I don't think anyone's ever spoken to him like that before. Well, no human, anyway. No doubt Jeff's spoken to him that way at least a million times. He seemed to consider the question before answering me a few seconds later. "You really are stupid, aren't you? Talking to someone like me like you live with me and are, well, like me," he said, clearly annoyed.

"No, not stupid. Just crazy," I replied with a small smirk playing at the corner of my lips. "All my friends and family would say the same."

He thought about something for a moment, then said, "Well, let's see how you fare at the place where I live." He took me toward my living room to use the TV. "There are plenty of people like me there, and some are far worse than me. Let's test your sanity there, shall we?" I shrugged - hey, why not? "Yeah, sure BEN," I said as he dragged me through the TV. It was a strange but amazing experience, like going through a portal made of pixels and wires to a place many of you who read this know of: Slender Mansion.
