“MUM, we need to leave NOW! C'MON!” I yell as I wait by my front door. I run my hands though my hair, something I did when I was extremely stressed or nervous. 'I can't believe her, I've been down here for twenty minutes waiting for her and I'm going to be late.' I think as I cross my arms across my chest and roll my eyes.
I wasn't surprised she was doing this, my mum was late to things almost everyday of her life. It was like she had no concept of time. And, it wasn't like I wasn't ever late to things, but I hated being extremely late like she always was.
“Bloody hell!” I hear before seeing a midsized middle aged woman bolt down the stairs. Her mid length light brown hair looked like a complete mess and her blue eyes didn't sparkle as much as they usually did. Even now, looking her worse, she was still beautiful. My mum, she could be completely knackered and still be fit by any mans standards.
“I'm so sorry Addie, I didn't know what time it was and I couldn't find my keys.” She says in an apologetic tone. I could hear a bit of her Irish accent as she spoke. You'd think after living in the UK for so many years she would have have lost it, but she didn't. However, she could have just picked it back up again since we moved to Ireland at the beginning of last summer.
Mullingar Ireland, that was my new home after living in Manchester for the past 15 years of my life. But seeing as my parents just got a divorce, I chose to move all the way to Ireland with my mum rather than stay in Manchester with my dad and my two siblings.
Sometimes, I honestly wish I would have stayed too.
Mullingar is just way too small, and I loved living the city lifestyle. I loved shopping all the time, I loved going to parties, I loved my friends... I loved my home. I've never felt so out of place like I do now, and I know people can tell.
“Addie? Addie..... ADDIE!” I hear my mum say, breaking my chain of thought. She wove her hand in front of my face as if she were trying to somehow break the trance I'd put myself in.
“Sorry mum!” I say, a bit flustered. Being honest, I was probably just as knackered as she was. Waking up at 5 am on a Saturday wasn't fucking ok, but I guess that's the downside to going on a class trip to America with a bunch of your mates.
“Hey, can you put my bags in the boot? I need to go to the bathroom for a sec.” I say. I grab my small make up bag before heading up the stairs and into the loo.
I take look in the mirror, making sure I looked decent. My long dark brown hair fell in soft curls and thankfully it still looked good. My hazel eyes looked tired, extremely tired, and I had bags under them.
I open up my make up bag and fish around in it until I find my unopened bottle of concealer. I usually don't need it because I was blessed to have really nice olive toned skin, but in this case, I needed it badly.
I dab some of the concealer under my eyes and spread it around until it was even. I then apply a little eyeliner and mascara to make my eyes look more defined.
'hmm, I guess that's all the make up I need. The only thing I'll be doing all day is traveling.' I think before closing my bag.
I then analyze my outfit, making sure nothing was out of place. I was wearing a black jumper with a purple circle scarf, purple skinny jeans and aqua colored converse with gray socks showing just over the top of them. I slide on a pair of ray ban catty clubmaster sunglasses before leaving the bathroom.
I walk down my stairs while pulling out my iPhone to check the time. 'Shit it's 6:30! I'm supposed to be in class right now!' I think as I run out the door. I quickly close and lock it before running to the car.
